Let's see....the C6 beat out the GT3 and Exige...not too shabby and was a hair under the Evo MR FQ. I'd say it did quite good in spite of the bias against it on the Top Gear video.

 

Top gear is the greatest show ever. I love how they trash on every american car they get there...except the gt40, but thats only because jeremy is getting one. I wish they showed that show in the states...too bad the season is over though

 

yeah i never miss an episode.... after i watched 3 in a row, started saying things were "rubbish"

vette owners were sooo p*ssed about it. you should have read some of their comments on vette forums. too funny.

 

While I like the show those two guys are so biased! The C6 is a very good car. The older guy looks like a damn butler anyway.

 

Numerous times I've heard Tiff and Jeremy "question" the EVO's fit and finish, anything that isn't a German car gets ripped for quality and a lack of refinement, which admitedly, aren't the strengths of either the Vette or the EVO. The Vette didn't look all that composed around the track even though it pulled out a great time though. I also found it funny how they refer to us as "the colonies." I actually think the new Vette has come together quite nicely but to me the Viper is the new American Dream.

 

I wonder what the c6 z06 is going to be like. 500hp? Dang...

 

Thats whats predicted, won't be a Z06 though. They're going to look to match the Viper. Personally I would have preferred an AWD C6 with the LS2 as the motor for all trim levels. I think the Z06 variant or whatever its called is going to be a little too overpowering especially with its light weight design but thats just me.

 

I dont mean to ask a question, that has nothing to do with this topic, but the topic is kinda C6 related so here it goes. Can someone post any info they have on the C6 Z06...or whatever it will be called?

Also I showed my dad, a vette owner and would kill for a C6, was so madd it was funny. "I dont think they had a good driver on that track!" Little does he know how good of a driver "The Stig" (sp?) is.

 

wow, I was really dying for one of those Vettes but after seeing what a cheap POS it is (leaf springs???) it's off my list. I should have known better than to think of going domestic. The american car makers still can't build a good car for their lives!!!!

 

It is a composite leaf spring that mounts across the rear suspension. It is not old tech semi-elliptical cart springs at all.
