If you want handling take all the Volvos off you list. Used Z06 is the way to go for top end performance.

I have an '04 S2000 in addition to the Evo. The S2K pulls mightily on the top end. Too bad my Evo still kicks its a$$ though... I bought the S2K to relax in.

cos all he can do is drive in a straight line! curves are scary.

the duplicated thread he just opened indicates he wants something CHEAP and fast.

well dammit just open a thread saying that! tell us your budget. not your "yeah, I could do $xx,xxx if I ate ramen, got a new job and sold plasma" budget, what you can really afford.

and I presume you can't work on cars yourself or else I doubt somehow that you'd be asking this.

Why not get a 1st gen Miata and drop a 4.6 or 5.0 liter Ford V8 into it? Both swaps have been done and there's more than enough top end for that little car. You have a virtually infinite parts bin to pull from...

Miata's tend to do quite well at autocross (handling)...

Or can some mods be put on the car to make it a better car in top end. I would get the evo but i dont want to get killed in the higher top speeds. Sorry for the long post but i would like some car suggestions or some mods for the evo. THX
you're not going to get anything with the steering and handling ability of the Evo without dropping major, major coin...

what tracks are you running at that you have to worry about the speeds over 120mph...? who the hell reaches those kinds of speeds in an autoX course...?

Bah. Do what that crazy guy did and stick something ridiculous into something even tinier! He shoved a Northstar into an older generation MR2!

If someone has to post here asking about what kind of car they want, they're probably not ready to do what the MR2 guy did. It takes a special kind of idiot/genius to come up with something like that.

The Miata/Ford combo, however, would be much easier, since there are already people out there that have "notes" on it.

If you will read my post you will see I said I had an ITr basically and had cams, port and polish head, ECU redline to 9K, VTEC control, and alot more and it still doesnt compare to the Evo.
