they are hard to mod if your staying N/A...some things work some don't.
Forced induction is the way too go for the s2k.

Making a $32k S2K go fast = $$$$. Put that same amount of money into an Evo and you should see 11's at the track.

should s2k be able to beat evo's on a roll, if the s2k only has minor bolt on's and tunning, no force induction??

S2ks are pleasantly quick, even stock.

I love the lack of turbo lag and the feel (sound) of vtec kicking in as you work your way to 9000rpm (8000rpm on 04). I drive a Stage 1 WRX by the way.

Having driven a Stage 2 STI and Stage 1 Evo, I still find the stock S2000 to be in good company. Hell, I have a buddy who owns both a stage 2 STi and a (stock) S2000, if that tells you anything. : )

As for forced induction, adding a supercharger, that would be incredible (looking under the hood, it's as if this car were made for a drop-in S/C)!! Sorry I can't say anything about more specific about S2000 mods.

What I can say is if I had the oppurtunity to upgrade at this time, the choice would be a battle between the STI, MR, S2000. Of course, each has its unique charms. If you're looking for a covertable, rear-wheel-drive, tossable ride... it'd be hard to come close for the money.

As I say, a stock S2000 is quite nice... and as a Honda, I'm thinkin there's likely to be a plethora of mods.

Cheers,
Blue

My buddy has a S2000
He has HKS springs and a Spoon exhaust with test pipe. I can speak about the EVO vs the S2000 because we have used each others cars to see when a mod is making more power.
right now I can pull three cars on him on a roll with a test pipe and a HKS filter. When I was stock and he had an the exhaust it was dead even.
The car is a blast to drive though, NA is fun.

Even modded, the s2k is still slow. Unless the owner put in some serious investment. Overall, the s2k is hard to be mad into a power monster. But the fun factor in driving the s2k is incredible! I love the gearbox and the feel of driving a convertable. Plus, the looks factor is all there. I dont mind owning one someday.

I raced a turbo'd s2000 from a roll and we were dead even. He said he was putting down about 320 to the rears. I'm about 300 at 4 wheels. I've seen a couple of s's here in NoVa that are putting down 400 or more at the wheels. They've put a ton of money into them, but they're very, very fast... I also raced a stock s2000 from 3rd gear and I was (on purpose) right at his door, then I looked over and smiled and waved bye bye and just took off. When we got up to the stoplight, he caught up and I could see him laughing in my rear view with the thumbs up... Every s2000 driver I've encountered, stock or fast has been nothing but cool.
