Price may not be an issue but if you plan on any mods to the car then beware as Audi of America has become as aggressive or more than Mitsubishi at voiding warranties and repairs on them are incredibly expensive.
However, for about the price of a new s4 you could buy a 2000-2001 S4 and a new Evo.

I used to have a B5 S4 with the headaches that it gave me, I decided to wait and buy an Evo.. soon, anyways (At the time my car was stolen, the evo wasn't available here). The B6 isn't biturbo, so i'm sure it doesn't have as many problems, as most of the problems I had involved leaking boost everywhere. If you want better info, check out audiworld.com. I haven't been on there since my car was stolen, but I remember it as a wealth of information when it came to audis.

well i was interested in an evo, but if the mr is not like it is in japan, then i really am not interested. its the suttel things that make some of the difference. I will give the 04 evo a chance when i test drive it. the audi dealer called me about pricing. tell me what you think.

2005 audi s4 - 6 speed manual
metallic paint
premium package
XM with Bose
heated seats
power rear shades
NAV system
multi function steering wheel

all for 50,721. plus the 1700 gas guzzler fee and all other fees like state tags, taxes, and title. roughly 56K with all told and done
