If you like luxuries like Cruise control and power seats etc get the S4 If you want a track car or if you are a hardcore performance enthusiast get the Evo MR. Both cars are fun to drive and very respectable performance but S4 deffinately has the evo beat for luxury and comfort however Evo still holds the performance edge and for a few extra bucks that you save with the Evo you can turn it into a real track monster without much modification.

The S4 can go all-out track as well, though it'll run you some significant change. There are competition versions of the S4 (turn on Speed Channel), but it won't be cheap.

As for the MR, expect $33,050 with destination. I'll be confirming that in a few hours and will be plastering scans all over the Future Evo forums.

The S4 is a nice ride though. Even the older B5s are great highway cruisers and can corner fairly well.

I was also thinking about getting an S4 ,definitely more luxurious, however the top speed on the s4 is 127mph just a thought, I have already put down deposit on a silver MR delivery date oct. 29

S4 governor is 155, not 127/128. 127/128 is an A4.

its too bad the evo doesn't have some of the luxurious features found on the european model, otherwise as much as i love the s4, i would buy the evo. mitsubishi is most likely going to lose another customer due to poor planning by not bringing the japan/UK evo to usa.

I have an 04 S4 and an Evo... both of these cars are great but are completely different from each other. I drive the Audi to work and the Evo on the weekends or after work. Evo is more of a fun car to drive... S4 has no turbo's, but a decent v8. I would pick the MR over the s4 anyday though.

What luxury features are the U.S. model missing?

I can get lost on my own I dont' need a nav systems help recaro seats are awesome... Whats wrong with the HID's? we got AC thats the only climate control I need.... All those features would just bump the Evo price up to closer to 40k which would put it out of the pricerange of a lot of the Evo buyers.

price is really too much of an issue here........you could nearly buy 2 EVO's for the price of the S4. They are also completely different cars.....one is a luxury sedan and the other is stripped down econo box with lots of power and lots of handling. If cost is "really" no option (I'm assuming someone is giving you a car) then take the S4.....cuz you could sell it and get an EVO and put $20k in the bank

I hade an A4 quattro great car if you want refinement but for hardcore performance get the evo I spank S4's all the time I work next to a Audi dealership and embaress test drivers all the time with my evo. I do like the S8 if you dont need the sharp handling.

The s4 has a great motor and is great for high performance luxury driving. OTherwise, the Evo has the performance edge.

i have heard that you can get some company that will buy the s4 shell, the motor, and all the drivetrain components, and then they put in one seat, and a roll-cage. i checked out the website long ago, but now i cant remember it. it was surprisingly cheap, considering you dont pay for any of the crap. if money is no issue, i would do it, and build my own one of a kind. i am not sure about the new NA audi. i was always a big fan of the twin but whatever, audi built themselves with turbos. i wonder where this is taking us.
