1g dsm vs stealth tt

im buying my first car and im having a hard time choosing which car to get. i have a budget consisting of only 5,000.....my plans are to make reoccurring 12 second time slips but still have the ability to beat cars on road courses...im leaning towards the stealth because of the tourqe, but the dsm has huge aftermakret suport....please share experiences or ideas you have

thanks -alex

I say go with the Stealth TT, DSMs are very nice, but I thnk the Stealth TT is a great car also. I know the DSM has lots of potential, but people tend to underestimate the VR4/Stealth TT Platforms.

Get the DSM. Great bang for the buck. I had a 94 Talon Tsi AWD and ran 13.30's @ 102MPH on the stock turbo with just an exhaust, upper intercooler pipe, K&N , and boost controller. Porting the turbo, O2 housing, and exhaust manifold would have got me into the 12's. I later put in a small 16G and ran 12.60's @ 110 MPH until a balance shaft let go. I ran it hard for 7 years with no major problems. I still miss that car.

The dsm is the way to go,some mag. a couple weeks ago did a artical on the top 12 cars to buy for under 10,000 and the dsm won straight up.The other cars they were comparing were old supra,dsm,honda,acura,300zx,old rx7,and some others i cant think of right now.Dsm was one of the only cars you could get in to the 11scd time slips with the least amount of money spent in.Just make sure its awd.

The only thing with the Stealth/VR4 is they weigh over 2 tons.
