Who is going?
Steve, there may be 1000 cars, but way more will be in the show than in the race (usually). In my previous competitions at MIR, I always got enough runs. It's a competition, so you have to get your 3 preliminary runs, because you need a test run or two, and then there are qualifying rounds. After that you get your elimination runs, so you won't get just 1. AT the very least, you would get 2 quals and then the comp runs. If you do bracket, then you can race all day if you're good, but you have to worry about a dial-in, which sucks when going for personal bests.
I normally try to get there very early, get tech'd in, setup a spot and drop my stuff (have to claim a spot cuz people move in when you are racing), toss in the race gas, and then be ready to lineup as soon as they start the test runs. If they allow a test run session before quals, you have to try to get in as many as possible during that timeframe.

Yeah, the Pro tree is very difficult, especially for someone like me who does a feathered launch instead of a dump. You almost certainly have to dump the clutch to get a good R/T on a Pro tree unless you double-stage before your opponent is ready. That's considered discourteous in drag racing to the point that some tracks enforce it. Not sure about MIR, though, because all of the times in the past at MIR, my opponents and I have always staged properly.
Not that any of you really know me but I'll be there
I'll just keep an eye out for large collections of Evo's
That's cuz of the way the classes are defined. Imports are pretty heavily favored in 3 of the 5 classes. And even the Wild Street and Pro Outlaw classes are gonna be more competitive for the imports. Then there are the sheer number of imports that show up.
