Anyone going to be out today? I just stoped and talked to a WW X owner over at the park off First Colonial and Great Neck.

Sorry I should have been more clear. I've never heard anything bad about their labor. But when it comes to actual tuning, I've heard and read several things about them blowing motors on the dyno. Basically if it wasn't a honda they had no idea. This was a few years ago too.

I guess they did rebuild my buddies 1jz and it spun a bearing a week later (it ended up spinning 2 or 3 bearings over its short life). He dropped off the motor prior to deploying with the agreement that it would be done when he got back. They hadn't touched it in the 6 months he was gone.
This is the only bad thing I've heard about their actual work.

Is This a Good Deal?

I know ive already posted once with pics on an evo asking for tips hopefully no one will mind if i do it one more time. I found a rally red 2003 Evo with 52k miles for 16,900 and the price fits perfectly for my budget, the car seems taken very well care of for the most part. i cant find anything aftermarket and is said to be completly stock to the best of their knowledge. carfax is clean with 1 minor fender fix noted on the carfax. only 1 owner. if you see in the dash it has like a metallic piece i dont think thats normal...but minor. and it doesnt have the tarmac gravel and snow button...but it has a button to spray water on the intercooler ( feel free to jab at me for lack of knowledge ).

I believe ACD was not added until 05, at least on the none MR models.

Yeah, odds are it probably at least had a few mods done to it. Which were probably removed when the previous owner got ride of it, but I guess you never know.

Seems like a decent deal. If you do get the Evo, before you go mod crazy keep in mind that that you are coming up on your 60k service period.

Look at the boost control hoses for any non-stock looking clamps (my "stock" evo had a bunch of yellow zipties) and to see if its routed correctly. I met a guy that had just gotten an evo, and wondered why it was so slow. I looked around his motor for anything obvious and his boost control hoses weren't hooked up even remotely correct. They had one hose going from the turbo to the solenoid and another from the solenoid to the wastegate. Luckily I lived a couple blocks away and had my stock hoses laying around.

If you're talking about the blue piece around the gauge clyster, I believe it is a mitsubishi part. I think you could have had them installed as a dealer option.
