well the scene is getting better right now with the addition of EVOX2NR(Chris) and BlackCarbonEVO(Mikey). The closest 1/4 is richmond which is about 1 1/2 hours. There is only 2 E-85 pumps in the area so that sucks. As for shops. There is Spec-Ops in Fayettville NC which is like 3-4 hour drive and Forced-Fed in the same area. Then CBRD is up in PA which is 4-5 hours i believe. And STM 8-9 hour in NY. Thats about it for EVO tuning shops. There is a AWD Dyno in Chesapeake VA which is right here and Spec-Ops does come up and tune regularly. But you will be getting here in the winter time so things probably will be died down if not dead by the time you get here. Any questions just ask.
Thanks man just what I needed probably saved me lots of reading lol. I got two Evo's one VIII 03 yellow, and one black IV which is stock right now got a really good deal when I was in Vegas so I picked it up only 35,000 miles and stock for 17,000. Kid was not taking care of and talked him down from 22,000. The things I had to change out was the rotors all around and pull the fuse for the anti lock brakes. And now just got to replace the hood due to a rav 4 backing into him that he never fixed. And he had some stickers on the spoiler that I took off and ripped the paint and clear coat off so thats coming off for sure. Needs a really good wax and polish since its black you can see lots of swirl marks. Got the wax done just need to get another wax and polish to buff out some more swirls thats for have a black car though huh. everything else seems to be ok. Oh he had the enki rims that were so curb checked I took them off and put my extra grey BBS wheels on and sold my 96 eclipse with the enki's. Its about due for a clutch as well now. But going to pull my twin out of 03 and put in 06 and get triple clutch for 03.

Does STM ever come to Virginia for anything that you know of would like to meet Emery and the crew. Really like how clean their cars all plan on getting my just as clean. My VIII is pretty much just going to be my race car as soon as its paid off after this deployment. Then going to get a Truck so I can haul it around. Only have 46,000 miles on it and trying to keep them low.
No stm does not come down here for anything but maybe races in NC whenever those are. Only group to come up here and tune are the good guys are spec ops. Also the guy at all aspect in chesapeake does in fact tune cars also if you don't want to wait for spec ops to come up. Spec ops is soon to get into their new shop down there with a soon to be dyno.

I crew for the HH-60 medevac right now in Afghan and work on them. Where do you work in eustis I got orders to go there but don't know what my assignment is yet hoping to get a good one. Either the school house or the VIP flight company. What is the best to shoot for. And is there anybody I can talk to when I get there to help me out?

I believe this is exactly what I need to get done with my tranny. I have an issue where I am shifting all the way to fifth gear and runny out of gear too fast. Let me know as well with your tranny upgrade if it works I am assume you have a 2.3 as well thats why your doing this.
I'll let you know what I think of my new trans. It's an VIII with IX input, 1st and 5th and VIII 3rd and 4th with 4:11 ratio and some other stuff to help it live a little longer and shift at higher RPM. PM me if you want more details. Mine is Shep built though.

Actually, I am in the Navy... out at Norfolk. I don't think that I could give you too much career info, both sound like good assignments though.

Troy, I'll tell you what I'm doing and I would recommended since you are on a 2.3... I would do the Stage 3 TRE 5 speed. Do a typical VIII tranny with 4.11 gears. You don't need to get to crazy. A lot of people will do the IX 1st gear because it is taller but those are for most people that don't do the 4.11. I think with the IX 1st gear with 4.11 will be way to tall of a gear. Just my opinion. Chris may say something else but I think that is the best 2.3-2.4 tranny there is. Whatever you decide to do, you def want the VIII 3rd and 4th. Also Jon is a really nice person and if you tell him what you are looking at doing with the car he can set you up in the right direction.

Who is the exact person or company doing these tranny upgrades for you guys are you shipping them off to shep? Or is there somebody in the area experienced enough with them in the Virginia area?

TRE is the company we are talking about. Just google TRE Transmissions. I am still trying to talk STM to come to the track rental day in Richmond but not sure i can. They really only go to Ohio and Home area due to most tracks being sticklers about tech inspec.
