Watch out!
Everyone in the maryland area watch out theres a whole bunch of crazy undercover cops now and days. Recently My friend got chased on 495 east by a toyota camry and i got chased by a nissan Maxima TOTALLY undercover nothing shows on his car that it is a cop and also a chevy ilumina. Just becareful never know if theres a cop around.
Yeah here in milwaukee we have a highway patrol with a black z28 camero, with exhaust, limo tint, and chrome rims. I almost passed him, luckily he had his window down and i saw the patch. (thank god for brembos)
i've seen a few like that around here for sure. bone stock (appearing anyhow) 06 mustang GT, 06 explorer, and i could have sworn i saw the new fusion (or whatever it is that replaced the taurus) with a tiny light bar behind the rearview mirror. md cops are quite sneaky and not very forgiving.

I have told my wife if she is out late and a unmark car tries to pull her over that I want her to call me, tell me where she is at, and keep going. I rather her get arrested than getting pulled by some a$shole impersonating a cop. I have always disagreed with the use of unmarked cars to patrol the roads. Now that MSP is using more common cars makes it easier for some perv to impersonate them.
Yeah absolutely, I thought that there was a requirement that if an unmarked pulls you over that a marker car is obligated to come to the scene to make sure that it is legit? I would stop but not shut my car off if it is an unmarked, if they get pissy then so be it, I will wait to see the officer before the car gets turned off. Or ask that a marked vehicle come to the scene as well.
There have already been documented cases of people impersonating police officers.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
Here in MI a while back - maybe 4-5 years ago...there was this guy in a Ford Explorer pulling people over. He had done his car up like a full UC police unit: lights, siren, tickets - heck even a full Detroit uniform - you name it he had it. Luckly he was just semi-crazy and was pulling people over to issue traffic tickets. But he could have done way worse - i.e. arrest you - taken you somewhere - and who knows from there.
Unmarked is one thing - they usually still have the A-pillar lights and bumper guards. And lights somewhere. Detectives around here drive those. Troy has a Mustang, Burmingham has a Corvette, Oakland had a Camaro SS. All of which were "chaser" cars - full paint and lights (funny though how the cars in those areas can our run them - including me
Esp. Birmingham where money is less of an object and more of a given)
But if there is no marking whatsoever, no A-pillar beam lights, no bumper guards, nothing. I will not pull over.
I will: move to the right lane - maintain legal speed and call 911 tell them the situation to insure that you are actually being pulled over. Or wait for him/her to call marked back up - which ever comes first. (And anyone from Det. correct me if I am wrong - thats what all the police stations were saying to do). I have no problem doing that, and if it is a real cop, Ill tell him why I was doing that. If he is an ****, well oh well, Ill tell a judge the same thing.
Different areas - different regs. on what can be a UC police car. So Id ask your local coppers whats the story. (err - best to do when not being pulled over
)
