Red face Day Two, already pulled over

So I picked up a WW 03 this saturday. Hi, I'm new!

I've been wanting an evo since I saw the VI back in the day... finally came to the states and I can finally afford one now. So I got pulled over last night cruising with my friends, hilarity ensued:

Officer said he couldn’t see my temp tag in the back windows through the 30% tint. He knows it is 30% because he broke out the tint meter. He also informed me that my car has a modified exhaust (it doesn’t, all stock) and that it is illegal to have a modified exhaust in VA. I attempted to let him know that it was the stock exhaust and he took his flashlight to the back of the car and reassured me that it was "modified"

I also got "Are those seats comfortable? They look like racing seats".

It was priceless hearing him say “You hear the way this thing is purring? They don’t purr like that from the factory.”

I'm not angry with him at all; he's just doing his job, keeping it safe. Just a humorous situation.

I can't wait for the future meets!

Shocking^ Welcome you'll enjoy the car even though most people don't know anything about these cars.

LOL Nice!

Question is: When does an exhaust become modified? Is it modified when its a crappy old car with a GIANT hole in the muffler and the over all state of the vehicle is complete disarray OR when you spend a couple hundred bucks to switch to something that will likely last longer and if you're like us, make the car quieter than it came stock? And which is actually illegal? LMAO, just wondering aloud

Drives: 03 WW Mitsubishi "Did you spill my pint?"

There is also the 'Subaru - you... outside... NOW!'

VA stinks for tickets- if they're so knowledgeable about aftermarket modified exhausts, then he should know about the Evo. I have pulled that card from the deck before when a cop grilled me once. I had to get the owners manual out of the glove box before he let me go

All the cop attention AND a personal property (car) tax! Life is great here!

No ticket, just warnings for about everything on the car.
I expected as much, driving such a beautiful, sexy machine.

In regards to the exhaust, next time tell the all-star to get on his knees and look up at the bottom of the exhaust for the Mitsu logo.

Had a retard cop argue with me about the exhaust for a good five minutes, and then proceeded to tell me I needed a state inspection on my new vehicle (isn't required for a year after purchase).
