Lucky (and funny) story

So this morning I was heading to work down 295, and come across an e-55 AMG. a small race ensues, not too clear cut b/c there was a bit of traffic, so nobody could really gun it too long. he ends up in the #1 lane, I'm in the #3 lane, when up ahead, past a big truck in my lane, on the grass divider is a nice policeman.. we both slow down to about 50, and pass the cop, but hes already edged forward as if to get on the road behind us. I'm sweating my *** off, thinking "hey, i might get a free ride in the police car along with the benz driver". he gets on behind us and proceeds to pull over the big truck that was between us when i spotted him. me and the benz driver looked at each other, did a WHEW montion, gave each other a thumbs up, and went about our ways at reasonable speeds.

The funny part is when you imagine what the cop was saying to the trucker he pulled over. "sir, how on earth did you get an 18-wheeler to go that fast, b/c i clocked you going (insert outrageous speed that I'm not admitting to here)?"

I know that sigh of relief man. Especially being on probation and any ticket makes you lose your license for a year. Cop threw his lights on as I fly by on the parkway, and he tagged the rice'd out civic that was attempting to impress me with his 5 inch coffee can of a muffler tip. I felt relieved and pretty good. Heart bumps out of your chest and you start getting the "Leg Shake"

The feeling of dispair that hits when a copper pulls onto the road behind you. That's possibly the worst feeling on earth.

It's even worse when he come flying up on your ***, and then lane changes at the last second to fly around you.

Oh man, I've had a bunch of those recently (thank GOD). Blew by one during the winter...and I mean BLEW by doing about 95 in light traffic with him stopped on the median. Slowed down, pulled into traffic and he drove right by (which is kinda funny cuz my car may look stock, but it's pretty damn loud). Then later down I80 I'm cruising at 65 (10 over) in the middle lane and approaching a car that must have been doing 35 in my lane. So I drop into 4th and step on it a bit to pass in the left lane, but before I signal or turn the wheel I look over and see there's a cop next to me. I quickly put her back in 5th and just kept it at 65. My friend in the passenger seat looked over and swears that the cop gave me a dirty look then just kept on going. All I saw was him pull away.

There's also a few accounts of me passing by cops doing 40 in 25's on the way back from work (most towns around here you do NOT speed in because the cops have VERY little to do and loooove giving out tickets), but they were far less eventful. The only things they had in common were those adrenaline spikes and weakness in the knees. Oops.

Anywho, glad you didn't get a ticket.

After Nova Evo gave me the 411 on traffic laws and stiff penalties here in VA, I am wondering even harder why I left Cali... I mean, 93 octane (as opposed to 91) is great, but not if you can't use it.

Hmmm... undecided on this whole East Coast thing.

Awww, c'mon, dude...it's not THAT bad...even if you get popped for reckless driving, a lawyer only costs about $300 and will get it knocked down to speeding or improper driving. Those are only 3 or 4 point violations, and you need 18 points to get your license suspended...and points drop off your record after only 2 years...plus you can always take traffic school...in VA, you can do it online from home!

i get out of all kinds of tickets here, of course the other day i got pulled over by a dc cop, he tried to say i was racing a porsche, it went a little like this:

ME:what i am being pulled over for?
COP: you don't know? how about racing the porsche, speeding and screeching tires right by me (BOV noise).
ME: I assure you i was not racing a porsche
COP: if i had any proof, you'd be in hand-cuffs right now

He goes back talks to the driver of the porsche, porsche drives off. so i'm thinkin cool, i'm gonna get out of here, NOPE.
comes back w/ $35 speeding ticket for "unresonable speed" for like 2 miles over speed limit...

i get out off all the big ones but get stuck with some BS ticket, and the only reason i was speeding because i was leaving the intersection of 15th and constitution when the light changed

Cool story same feeling here. couple days ago there was a cop behinde me and I did not so we were on a trafic light with an old Acura driven by an old women on my right. Once the light turns green i put my signal on to the right because I have to make the next right turn. anyways, I did not noticed that I was making the right front of the cop but I was driving slow and fine so the cop beeb at me and with out me looking at my rear mirror I put my hand of the window and went what the hell are you doing to the cop... I had my signal on and ther was big space between him and the lady in the acura front of him. In a minute I realized that I did that to a cop and I was like WOW. Nothing happend he did not pull me over.
