you guys are reminding me of my days in Quantico! Had alot of fun crawling all over the back roads in Northern VA. If you think the civvie cops are a pain try MPs sometime. I was once told by a military judge I would loose my base driving priveledges if I recieved another ticket in the next 6 months, even though every ticked issued had been dismissed.

 

...and earthquakes, smog, C.A.R.B., crime, huge budget deficits, ****ty gun laws, and really ****ty 91-octane gas...

 

There are trade-off's living wherever you choose.

The Cop's aren't really much worse than anywhere else. Just don't go doing stupid stuff....and you'll only run into em once in a while.

Unfortunately, he does. He has his word. And he can be claiming you did something that's not even possible in your car, but it won't matter. The judge will always side with the officer on "little" traffic offenses. A friend of mine was pulled over for squeeling his tires like crazy at a stop light...in his AWD. He tried to tell the cop it was the riced out Integra next to him that burned rubber, but of course, he was ignored. He and a buddy showed up on court date with magazine articles talking about how it's damn near impossible to spin the tires in an AWD, but it didn't matter. The judge even said they made a good case but she had to side with the officer. They were fined.

And cops wonder why people have disrepect for them. They need to put down that wall of blue and start cleaning up their own mess from within if they want people to respect them.

My car is CA smog-legal, so CARB is not a problem, the cops don't care if you're a good guy carrying a gun, and the freeways flow at 85+ where I had been living. I think I am going to apply to LAPD and go the hell home...

Makes me look forward to the chance to move to Phoenix soon, because here in MD it's just as bad as VA. My tax dollars at work paying traffic cops to hide in bushes and unmarked cars to try to stop people from getting to work on time.
