How much would you pay?
I wasnt comparin them based on performance because we all know Evo is king overall. I was simply thinkin of a vehicle period. But like I said should I consider a rebuild and how much will it run me about?
^+1 on the bushings. You would definately want to re-do the suspension and do a leak down test on the motor. Replace all the main gaskets, and since you would already be there with the head off ect ect, you mine as well get a built bottom end which go from 2500 to 3500 depending on the shop (like in my sig) *cough* *cough*
Is this the white one with the black bra on it? I was considering buying this for my DD, but then I slapped myself and remembered I was trying to save gas, not spend more.

I drove that car last week. It felt mighty strong for a stock Evo8 but I couldn't spot any mods. Maybe the wastegate was allowing more boost than normal? It also had a "Service Engine" and "SRS" light on. Bleh.
They didn't want anything less than $16,448 out the door on it.

a tune, an upgraded wastegate, downpipe, test pipe, internal work, maybe an upgraded turbo(depending on the type) most of that stuff you can't see without being under the car or having a computer hooked to the ecu. Also 16.5K seems a little much for a 5 year old Evo with 100k plus miles. I'm pretty sure you can find a newer Evo with less miles for a few grand more.

if anyone is still looking at this evo it's been wrecked I'm glad I found out before I dropped any cash on it. As I was told by my insurance agent the car had a collision payout of about $14,000 back in 05'. I looked for myself and sure enough it had frame damage and all. You could see rust spots in the engine bay from where it was repainted and such. The carfax report was clean but I ran the vin on another site and it came up with frame damage. So I was bummed cuz I had plans for the car especially the engine nothin to major just wanted to start by doin rebuild with the 2.3 ztroker kit.
