Unhappy My Poor Evo

Hit a 97 ranger going maybe 20-25mph. Unfortunatly it was completly my fault but i guess live and learn. I tried doing the let me order my own parts and insurance covers it because they want to do everything OEM which is fine but total cost was 11.5k which is 500 away from being a total loss. it seems (i am by no means mechanically inclined) but my intercooler is fine but they said its ruined...headlights fenders hood bumper all gone... Another odd thing is each headlight assy is 1250 thats more than any other single part getting ordered including the hood and ic. anywho no im not parting out i could never let go of her but heres some pics of the tragedy unless your lilgunz who already saw it
**This pic was about 2 days prior**

And if you felt bad for me then youll really feel bad for his truck...dont know if he can ever drive it again like this....

Wow. 1250 each? You can buy two sets of jdm for that. Unless they're figuring in the hid ballasts and everything.

You can always let them total it out, then buy it back from the insurance company and rebuild it. It'll be a salvage title though.

yeah with the headlights its the entire assembly but still 1250 i thought is insane its more than the hood or anything (still cant figure out why the intercooler has to be replaced i cant see anything wrong with it other than like some scratches on the top). I had considered doing the salvage title thing but they are only going to give me 16k and i owe around 20k because i just got it 2 months ago the 4 grand plus buyback plus repairs and im leaving for iraq so soon that i wont even see it out of the shop, Its not too bad tho i only have to pay 500 deductible plus my raised insurance costs that doesnt get affected till Nov ish.

what happened? it was obviously your fault. following too closely? brake fade? worn out tires? truck without stop lights? texting while driving?

Yeah no gap insurance i checked. what exactly happend was i was driving and i reached over to grab my gps looked up and traffic was at a dead halt in the portsmouth tunnel, my brakes were fine and tires almost brand new however they did go ahead and hook me up with a following too closely ticket. I just got the call and it is 11500 in damage and thats 500 short of being totalled so i consider myself very lucky (8700 of that is just in parts). So in a few weeks or so they are telling me my car will look like it never happend, ill be in iraq but i cant wait to see the pics dont know whether to put a happy or sad face here lol.
