Porter, glad to hear of the improvements. What sparked the overhaul?
Consolidating some debt and figured that since this stuff needs to be done justdo it and its cheaper than buying a new car/truck.

Now since it has 124k on it is there anything else I should consider replacing?

Anyone feel like wrenching this weekend give me a call or send me a pm. 4 day weekend for me means time to put the evo under the knife for the new parts. Beer and pizza on me.

Hey all I'm Tom. I'm in Lusby. Hopefully picking up my 05 MR this coming weekend. I currently have a beater '03 WRX (you've probably seen me....). Yeah I'm the guy with white loud *** "bugeye" with mashed front end. That happened when I bought it and had no clue how AWD worked and outdrove the car. That was almost 6 years ago.

I'm definitely looking forward to this...you have no idea.

Going to look at it on Sunday. Calling AMS today to make sure the mod list thats on the car is done correctly, since they were the ones that supposedly tuned it. The SMC meth injection makes me nervous. The full mod list is in my thread in the n00b section.

If I end up buying it, it has a Do Luck CF lip that I will most likely need to sell, and a set of Espilir GT springs that will need to be sold and stock springs put on BEFORE I can put it in my driveway, so if anyone is able to assist with that in any way let me know. I would do a straight up trade for stock springs just to get it done (assuming the GTs are more expensive).

Not putting the cart before the horse, just giving a heads up.

I looked at your mod list. The IX turbo is still a 16g, it's not a 20g. The alky injection would definitely make me nervous. I would have a reputable shop look it over and get the Carfax before purchasing it. If you can't get a shop to look it over, I would have a knowledgeable Evo owner test drive/look the car over for you.

Not going through with it. I went online and comparison priced the '11 STi 5door with some options to the '11 GSR and MR. Also looked at the Cobb options for power upgrades. Very interesting. The GSR would hurt my wallet badly but could be managable, the STi or MR would stretch my budget to the very max. Buying a car newer than 3 years old breaks every personal rule I have about car buying, but it's really the only way to guarantee I'm getting an unabused car and do things MY way. However, it would mean that there would be zero money left over to do any work to it once it's broken in. Even just exhaust and Accessport would be just about impossible.
