Shop recommendations for clutch install

Hey guys, I got my evo x 3/4 months ago and have put 10k on it so far for a total of 18k miles, and now i need a new clutch, on the highway in 5th traveling around 65 if you even put it a fourth of the way down it slips.

I plan on replacing the disc, pressure plate, TOB, fluids and resurfacing the fly wheel. does this sound right? as of now i'm not planning on replacing the mc since i am sticking with all stock parts.

I can't do this myself, even if i had all the tools i just don't feel comfortable but i feel even more uncomfortable to bring it somewhere i've never been for such a big repair.

can anyone guide me to somewhere they have been, maybe thats done your clutch before preferably on your x?

This is my first evo, let alone first japanese car, before i had and e39 m5.

thanks

CBRD seems to be the best shop around. Give Chad a call, they are usually pretty busy though.

If your trying to stay in MD, you could try giving Lonnie a call over at LaScuola Motorworks and see what he says too.

I've heard good things about them but i live a minute from dc so cbrd is about 2 hours from me so 4 hours in total which i just can't justify to drive.

I talked to ams in gaithersburg and they seemed competent, anyone have an opinion on them?

BTW heres what probably did in my clutch last weekend...

if your going to do drag id recommend not sticking with the stock clutch. it does not handle launching very well. just a thought.

I don't mean to be rude but after looking at their website i don't get a lot of confidence from that, but then again it could mean they just put all their effort into fixing cars, have you had major repair or work done their?

AMS does great work. Youll be fine going to them.

If your going to the dealership for them to replace your clutch that then goes on file and if your not looking to void your super awesome warrenty then "dont track the car"

that..

/thread

was just there an hour ago. mmm cookies....

I wouldnt trust anyone else in MD to do anything to my cars. If you want the drive and want to pay a lot more money go to CBRD. Either one you cant go wrong.

-1 for AMS... that is all
