Yup, some do. However most companies are just using a MAC valve. I mean, that's what AEM uses, what is used in the Profec, what Grimmspeed uses... On top of that, it's usually not the valve that sucks, it's the guy behind the keyboard as different valves need different setups in the software to work properly.

If you've done enough X tuning, it's easy to find out which valve works good. I surely know what solenoid to use.

You aren't dealing with me, we were just having a conversation about what's better for the end user for their tunes on EVO X's.

But hey, if you want your customers to spend additional money that isn't necessary as you get better boost control with built in fail safes through the stock ECU, well whatever pads your bottom line!

Greg,

Thanks for the clarification. I didn't know that Seyla tunes for you at your shop now. I thought he worked 1 on 1 meeting with the person. Cheers!

Seyla still does his one on ones for certain people, others come to see me. We either road tune or dyno tune depending on the customer's needs. A dyno is a tool. It's a great tool, but nothing can beat real world conditions for a solid tune. A dyno room that could truly simulate real world conditions would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and you still couldn't fully simulate things.

I was emailed your original post via the forum notification. You asked me to not start fights with AMS Gaithersburg before you went in and edited your post. I'm not trying to start any fights, I have no reason to. However I ask you to look at the time line in this thread. I post up to clarify information you posted over 1/2 a year ago and two hours later Cory posts a rather random post about tuning X's. Why? Because I posted up a clarification that Seyla does in fact tune for me. He then goes on to make a statement about boost control on the X and I ask for clarification. Anyone who can read this forum knows all the X needs is a BCS upgrade and the stock ECU can do wonders w/ boost control.

Installing a MBC or EBC into a X is a complete waste of money when a $50 solenoid does a better job and allows the stock ECU to keep fail safes in place.

I didn't start a fight, I just educate the masses.

Greg,
Thanks for the response. I edited because I myself didnt want to start something lol. Well that's a great duo then if you have him tune and you're doing installs. I hear you are a busy person, I messaged Seyla about some tunes and he told me to go to you for some installs of parts first. Pm me when you get the chance man

We use Hallman MBC and Perrin 3ports on Xs and have had nothing but success.

o boy lol here we go. I am sure there are great benefits to ecu controlled boost, but the mbc has been used and proven as well.
