Got more information on another driving school. This one is for AutoCross, and at UMB I believe.
2005 SPS Novice School
Our Novice school is geared to the driver who has little of not previous
solo experience. Officially we restrict entry to drivers who have run less
than five events. We cover how a solo event works in a brief classroom
session, then follow that with personal in-car instruction from local solo
drivers. Our focus is to establish good habits to build on during the rookie
season. Think of it as Autocross 101.
The school will be Saturday April 2 at UMB with a regional autocross the
following day. We have not established a final cost but expect entry to be
$50 to $60. Near the end of this month I will post an announcement with the
details of the school and the date registration will open. Information will
be posted on stlscca.org , stlsolo.org and solo2.org . The school will last
al day. Typically we start at 7:30 and end at about 4:00

One of the engineers where I work (MEMC) said that his club (Porche I think) is having a driving course out at Gateway on the 9th of April. I'm pretty sure it's $50 to participate and free to watch. He's invited me many times to go out but something always happened to my car to keep me from going. If it wasn't rent it was tires etc... I'm a little bit leary of taking my RA out there without upgrading the rear suspension first but I thought I'd post this up for anyone who couldn't get enough track time! It's open to anyone and in car instruction is available from what he said.

I talked to the engineer again Friday Sorry for the lateness GF ran her motor down to 1qt of oil!!!!!!) I was wrong on the price it's $250 for 2 day class. It is free to park/watch and they do charity "laps" for the Lou Garret Fund for like $10. You all line up and go slow around teh track 10-15 times. The charity laps are open to ANY car. I know it wouldn't be as much fun to locked in behind a soccer mom in a minivan but it's a good cause. He also said that most of the early dates get sold out pretty quick but as the season rolls on more and more people have gotten their fix and by the end of summer spots open up and by fall it's almost wide open. Sorry for posting the wrong price but he did say they get quite the variety of cars out there. I'll probably go just to see some of St. Louis' finer cars run around the track and maybe get some free pointers from the guys. It is the Porche club's first even this year and most of these guys have been chomping at the bit for track time! So to sum it up: It's $250 not $50 and it's 2 days (9th and 10th). Almost certainly sold out this time but free parking and addmitance. Charity laps should be $10 but they're not full speed. If I can get a 2005 schedule from him I'll post it up here. Sorry if I got anyone's hopes up guys.
