Question Anyone Auto-X in Indy area??

Was looking at doing some Auto-X next year in Indy area (rookie), or anywhere within reasonable distance. Been looking at SCCA, looks like they have a strong local presence.
I noticed some Evo's in last years standings....just wondering if anyone else around here is planning on Auto-Xing in 2005?

Although Indy is like 4 hours from St Louis, events are pretty light in our area. Might look at some of the links in a thread I started awhile back:

I do as many as I can. It is a good time and there are plenty of people to meet. There were also a few Lancer OZ's running last year. You should do it, if anything, it a good way to really get to learn your cars limits.

I wonder.....would they stick me into the same class as the OZ's? The only Lancer classification they have is Evo8 and Lancer non-turbo. I have 0 mods on my car.
My plan is to watch 1 or 2....then jump in and refine my skilz.

thanks for pointing him into the right direction

here's some websites for you to check out:

www.sbrscca.org South Bend Region SCCA website
www.indyscca.org Indianapolis SCCA website
www.inr-scca.org Northwest Indiana SCCA website
www.scca-chicago.com Chicag Region SCCA website
www.tsscc.org Tri-State Sports Car Council website

check the schedule for the 2004 season for ideas on where the venues are located.

And about your RA, they would probably class you as GS, instead of HS where normal Lancers are classed at.

And I will definately participate in the 2005 season, only during the summer tho due to school reasons. This past year was a GREAT advance for me because I was able to become competitive and eventually win 1st place in class at the last South Bend Region SCCA event.

If you have any questions about the sport, just ask and you will get answers

I hope to get in on the Auto-X action this year too. I am from Kokomo, 50 miles north of Indy. There seems to be a lot of SCCA Events at Grissom AFB just 10 miles north of Kokomo.

Cool....I am originally from Kokomo and my Dad still lives there near the new Chrysler plant on the northside (he just retired from Chrysler).
Hopefully I can make the Grisson regional event this year. Looks like a lot of fun.....I will probably stay at my Dad's for that one since it is a HUGE 2 day event.
Maybe we can all go to that one and represent Lancer Nation!
