Mod friendly dealership?

Anyone know of a dealership in the chicago area that is ok with mods? I need to get a few minor things done to my evo, but i dont want to void my warranty doing so. Thanks.

Hi. I asked the same thing a couple of months ago; I have yet to get a definitive answer. I need one soon.

Um, search and read the lengthy discussions that we've had about it already...

Here's one thread:

Don Jacobs in Milwaukee seems to be very good about mods, hell they even warrientied me with cams. They are the only dealership I go to.

What exactly did you have done under warranty?

I had the P0300 reflash. I didn't need it at the time but I was trying to get my ECU back to stock. I had the cams in, and they "noticed" a misfire when the car was idleing in the service drive. Then the tech I know there asked me if I put the cams in right in front of the service guy. Well the service writer was pretty cool about the whole thing.

Also forgot I had a real nasty tranny leak, they took care of that also.

This dealership treats you like a person, all the techs are great also.

I started a thread well before this, and as I touched on above, everybody gives a "definitely maybe" type of response. We are looking for an absolutely, unequivocally mod-friendly dealership.

Dryad, howdy, I am more than seriously considering to take my car there--even AMS recommends these guys It's a bit of a trek, but maybe I can drop it off on a Saturday and you can buy me lunch Got any bonfires planned?

Well, I'm heading to Renner way up in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin--that's Fireball's dealership and that's 76.40 miles door-to-door. Long way to go, but it's basically a straight shot up I94. I've been told it'll be worth it.

Well, I went way up to Renner (Wauwatosa, WI, yes, a bit of a hike) today. They replaced my cooling fan controller, under warranty, and tightened the steering column bolts--the entire column moved freely side-to-side about an inch--for no charge. Gotta like that! No mention was made regarding upgrades.

I've never had a problem with Bigger's Mitsu in Elgin, Illinois. They even accepted my Pit Pass program from another dealership. I need some work (5th gear syncro, misfire) as soon as I get my Evo back from the body shop. I'll let you know if I have any problems, but I would highly recommend them to this point!
