Gerg, go with a test pipe and then when you need an E-check....switch back to the cat. It's 4 bolts. I don't personally do that b/c it is against the law, but I know of some other non-law abiding citizens that choose to roll that way.

BTW, I noticed a difference between a high flow cat and a test pipe (when I rode in a friends Evo)

Maybe it was just placebo effect though b/c of the extra noise.

highflow cat is a waste of money. Consider getting the RS-R extended downpipe. It's one long pipe all the way to catback for the price of a regular downpipe.

I heard from a friend that he likes to use the standard length downpipe. It makes it easier to switch between a cat and a straight pipe. With the RSR extended pipe, you have to switch out the whole downpipe to put a cat on... that's what my friend told me.

that's wut i have

and the difference from stock cat to test pipe was pretty obvious
it was even more obvious when i had the cat back put on (JIC Ti)

i also heard that there will be no more e-check starting 07, i don't know it for a fact (summit county)
but it'd be nice...hehe

as for the noise, i usually put on the silencer, with that, it's not too bad
without it, non of my friends r willing to sit in my car, lol

I'm not going to sit here and preach because what one does with their car is their business, but do you want your 2.0L 4-cyl to make more polution than a Yukon just for 5 more whp?
