Your Evo is waterproof, I promise.
Though I may be a hyprocrite because if it's raining, I may bring the Eagle, reason being that the Evo is all washed and clean so I don't want waterspots
Meh, we'll see...

With the kind of power you have you could probably hit close to 140 on the back straight (Greg, are you reading this thread? what do you hit?) so, yeah, you'll want to do a good job on the brakes! With the Pro configuration there are two, hard braking zones: T5 and T7 -- Hawk HP+ aren't really cut out for that. Let your instructor know you have a low 11 car, there are a couple places where you want to be careful. I don't really have to worry about that!

I'd say at least 140 depending on how he got that beast out of the keyhole. My DSM was about consistantly 130 down the back straight and he's got 2x the power in the Evo.
...that bastard

I had Hawk HP+'s and barely got a weekend out of them. I think they'll do, but you may want to be careful come Sunday evening. This next go-around I am upgrading to Hawk's racing compound.
DJH, which group do you run in and were you at the April and/ or August events last year?

Great info, thanks. It's nice to get real info from people that have been there rather than heresay from couch racers (like me
)I have not installed any of the brake components yet, so a brake pad choice for the track can still be made. As I understand, the Evo brake pads are extremely easy to change (I've never done it). But isn't the idea to "seat" or "bed in" the pad AND rotor together. Will different pads just for the weekend ruin this seating in from the daily driver pads?
You said it! I just hit 130. I was out in April and August; I'm pretty sure I've seen you there. But I'll be running in 3. With the way they group now, with the instructors running in 3, I've had a lot of open track. I keep thinking I'll do TT, but I just don't have the time to make more than a few events. Unless I can get out more regularly I don't want to run 4 and have to *think* about checking my mirrors.

I know we're on the road racing stuff currently, but as a sidenote, Dragway 42 has test n tune this weekend (sat and sun) for $10. Gates open 10:30am.
Weather permitting of course. =(
I may go and get a few passes in on whichever the nicer day of the weekend is.
