1. Take a MSF course. No matter how long you've been riding it can still do you good. I know people who have been riding for over 20 years that still take the course to brush up.

2. Get good gear, it can mean the difference between life and death. Always wear full gear. No point in buying it if you don't wear it. No matter what anyone says, it can save your life, don't not wear it just to 'be cool'.

3. Don't ride beyond your abilites. Bikes bring a terrible temptation to show off. Resisting that temptation will keep you from crashing. Learn your bike slowly an carefully.

An R6 is a VERY aggressive bike for a beginner. It is very easy to get in a bad situation with a bike like that. BE CAREFUL! I know you will hear that from eveyone, but seriously, it can't be said enough. You never really know what a motorcycle is capable of until you have ridden one. I know you said you have ridden before, but safety is the name of the game.

Other than that, have fun, that's what it's all about!

Two things: SCHOOL and SAFETY EQUIPMENT!! Try something along the line of C.L.A.S.S., Kieth Code...really any of the major schools. I started my racing career after Kieth Code Superbike school a long time ago...absolutely invaluable. On point two, I cannot stress enough how important helmets and leathers are to keeping you alive (potentially, anyway--Indian Larry more than likely would still be here if he had worn a helmet) and with as few stupid injuries as possible. There are riders that have crashed, and those that will. You might still want your skin and brain afterwards.
I survived many wrecks on race tracks, including a 120+ get off at Willow Spings that ended my pro career. Good luck!

Just take it easy. Don't try to impress anyone and ride as much as possible to get used to the bike.

Since you're in Bolingbrook, don't let me see you cutting people off and being a helmetless ***, or I'll knock you right off the road.

Lol, seriously, nice bike...be careful with it. Bolingbrook and Naperville cops have really been cracking down on bikers lately, so don't give them any excuses to write you a massive ticket.

you are very wise for gettin a 600cc bike most new rider's think they have to go all out and buy 1000cc,1200cc, or a busa.

I don't know if I would go as far as 'wise', but at least not an idiot.

Here's another piece of advice, trying to show off is stupid. Want proof? Click Click Don't let that be you
