What's up with your wheels? My Evo is in the bodyshop now, can't wait to get it back.

Nick, probably not going to be racing. Cost me WAY too much money last year and the car is out-classed in TTA. I've got feelers out for my driving services, but at the very least I'll be at all the OH/IN events driving the pace car, working with the volunteer program (it needs some help lol), and getting into things on an administrative level. Whatever I drive to the track (or can borrow while I'm there) will hopefully see a session or two, but nothing as serious as last year.

Greg.....what can I do to assist in the race events???? The way I look at it the volunteer time will be worth track time. I am soooo anxious to play on the track and scare the hell out of my self. I am going to need a box of tissues when it is all done. LOL

Greg - You'll have to see the rims. I did something stupid over the last weekend. I killed one, maybe two rims. Did you take your car to the same shop I did? PM me if you wish. I know I don't like posting where my car is at any given time.

Soooooooo Saturday day time: anyone care to meet at my place for some BS'ing, brews (homebrews too!) then proceed to Lawrenceburg for some karting? I am going to take the initiative to get something together and will host.

Greg lives about 5 minutes from me and we are probably on the way to Karting for those in KY and only 15 minutes out of the way from Karting.

I want to meet some fellow DSMers and EVOers around KY. If you want to do this, post something here and PM me for directions. Post here for others to see the interest and PM me for directions to my place. To be honest I'll go even if its just one other person.

UC bowl game tomorrow at 2pm *****ez.

Paul, quit being such a ninny and get your car out on the track. You will have an instructor in the car, all you have to do is show up and drive. They have classroom sessions before every track session, so you will have a good understanding of what you are supposed to do. Just get some good brake pads and you will be good to go.

No my car is at a secret location - all brand new equipment and whatnot. The manager is actually building a CMC car for NASA next year, so it's all working out very well.

I might be able to do saturday, lemme check and see what's on the schedule.

Paul - the volunteering will be set up differently this year. AFAIK you will have to sign up for a spot on line, not unlike registering for a HPDE class. You cannot work and drive the same weekend, and last year you worked two days to get one day free entry. I'm working really closely with them this year, and can certainly get you pointed in the right direction.

I had no particular time in mind. If it works best for the majority then after 2 would be fine. Maybe meet around 2-3 at my place and socialize. I do have rather large HD tv so we could sit around watch the game and have a few drinks. As soon as UC is losing by alot (or winning) we can go. If you guys didn't want to watch the game at all we could probably go around 4-5ish.

Does this sound like a plan? Make some suggestions! PM for a phone number and directions....

Just keep me posted.

FYI....
I found a place to get Federal 595RS tires for 169 a piece (for 18s at that). These have a 180 wear rating and have a tread simular to Advan A048s. Everything I have read about them is great! !

Well Greg can't go. As I said, I'll still go even if its just one other. If I don't hear from you guys by 3, I'll probably head back to Cleveland today. Since I haven't met any of you (besides Greg for about 2 minutes), you guys will have to PM me for my contact info. I don't feel like giving it out on here.

Paul, Nick, you guys interested? Let me know!

Does anyone have a set of winter tires/rims? I am looking into getting some, not so much for a daily driver in the winter but for the occasional drive.

Does anyone carry winter tires in stock around here? And for that matter should I get some steelies? I don't want to run the BBS rims in the winter....

guess we all need to hold off a bit on the carting till after Xmas.

If you are looking for inexspensive all season tires.....Sumitomo HTR+ are GREAT!

You can get a set of 4 mounted for under 500 bucks. They rock in the snow and wear a very very long time. They are a little squrimy in the corners though. Just don't push them too hard.

There aren't any steelies available that fit over the brembos, so that's out. Look in the for sale section for some stock 8 wheels. You don't really need winter tires down here - it's not like Cleveland! A good all season will do, especially on the Evo. The biggest snow we've had since I moved here 7 years ago was about 12" and the whole area was shut down. I drove neighbors in to work in the Evo and generally had a blast. This was on the Sumi's Paul mentioned. The Hankook RS2's are good too, but we haven't had any snow to try them out in yet this year. They are a bit less like a marshmallow than the Sumi's in the dry and wet.
