Nope, this was in August. ATE was good when I was on a medium duty pad like a DS2500, but once I got too fast for those and moved to a more agressive pad I started having problems. I killed a new set of 2500's in one weekend (late last year), moved to the DS3000's and had lots of pad transfer problems. So I moved to the PFC-01 which generate a LOT more heat, but stop like nobodys business. That's when I found the limit of the ATE, started having the crossover tube fittings come loose due to thermal expansion rate issues, and turned the calipers black. I added air guides first which didn't help at all, then changed to Motul fluid and added the Ti shims. Since then, no more problems.

So it sounds like the ATE will do me just fine with my Hawk HP+. Once i get to the point that I need a dedicated race pad I'll remember to go to a different fluid. There were a couple guys at Putnam using the Wilwood fluid, they said it performed just like the Motul but is a bit cheaper. All I know is my brakes feel like dog$hit right now and anything is going to make them feel better.
Where are you getting the Ti backing plates?
I've tried that before too...
Nothing like going into T6 at the end of the back straight at Mid Ohio and having the pedal hit the floor.
You should be fine with the ATE, I used it without problems for almost 2 years. I'm 'finally' getting faster and starting to find the track limits of some parts. The Ti plates I got from Girodisc.

I see you guys are on Robi's tail about the KW's. 7k/8k is way too soft for track/auto-x IMO (10K/12K is too!). Pretty much ANY coilover will feel better than the stock bits. Also, be careful who is giving recommendations - make sure they have real track or auto-x experience to qualify their endorsements. Anything else is just lip service. Unless you go with Penske's or Moton's everything else is leaving something on the table. Make sure you get what fits best for you situation. Also think of support in the middle of summer when everyone is racing.

I denfinatly agree with you greg.. I think stock kw's work out to be 512lbs front 330lbs rear. That to me is WAY to soft. What do you think about running a stiffer front sway?
There are several different ways to get to the same end point. Personally I thing the stock sway bar is sufficient when paired with the right spring rates. I'm pretty sure the AMS car is running a stock front sway bar, but the Showcase car does not. Different paths, same result (FAST). I am running WAY over 10k spring front and rear on my car and picked up almost 2.5 seconds at Putnam - with LESS power (no alcohol=lower boost). Pick a path and run with it. I do know Robi did not fare well this year against the AMS car - and after seeing the Buschur car spring rates that could be why. They are nowhere close to what AMS is running (too low). I really thought my car would be too stiff, but it seems the stiffer you make the car the more it sticks. After Putnam, I'm thinking 255's are not enough tire for my car anymore. The chassis is far more capable than the tires now...
Don't be afraid of the ride with stiff springs. On full soft my Megan Track coilovers ride way better than my car did on Tanabe lowering springs. Right now mine handles really good with 12k/10k and rear sway on full stiff. I also run the back damping a little stiffer than the front. The instructor at Putnam commented on how balanced the car felt and how well it seemed to handle.
BTW, anyone that is interested in rolling their fenders let me know. I'll be renting one this winter

There is a guy selling a fender roller in the for sale section here on EvoM. As for the spring rates there comes a point where it will be too stiff. You have to find that balance.
Has anyone given thought to drilling a second hole in the front sway to shorten the swing and essentially stiffening the sway? It's free and you can an additional tuning point.
In looking for a balance of daily driving and AutoX (or track) when it comes to springs on your coil overs, I would think that anything over 12k would destroy your back on anything other than a smooth road. We all know that Cincinnati has wonderful smooth roads.
