Awh man! And I asked about that earlier -- anyone running the Xede? Did you get his name? He has some serious rubber on the ground, eh? It's a shame they don't make those 710's in a 255. I'd grab a set of those...

I'm sure the boiling of the fluid made you pucker just a bit I'm pretty sure I would have left something in my pants...

Danny is just amazing behind the wheel. Watching him autox and seeing the car control he has and then to be able to apply that to the track. Must have been neat to see him drive that fast!

What did Greg say about his new setup? He was faster so that is good!

The guy with the '05 MR had the Xede and was running a 100 octane map. I forget his name now, but I remember he said his Evom sn is Trackmonkey.

I didn't panic about the brakes. I could tell they were going out to go so I slowed down.

I'll let Greg give specifics on his new setup. I think he was pretty happy though. He had a strange issue with the camber.

Oh yeah, I did spin once It was on my first session on the tightest turn. I didn't go off course into the grass. I just did a 180, turned around, and continued on.
I'm real happy with how my car ran and handled. I had it dialed in where I wanted it by the last session. The instructor said it felt very well balanced suspension wise and was impressed with the power. All in all an excellent and fun weekend. I look forward to doing a bunch more next year.

Whats this I hear about a 350 Z whipping up on you all at Auto X. I guess Vince is the man to beat now. What happened? He even beat Adam Popp. Thats pretty awesome.

I had an awesome time at Putnam. I didn't get a chance to talk to any of you guys, but I added to the silver Evo madness. That was my first HPDE and my first time at Putnam, so I had a little bit of a learning curve in my first run. The second run went much better as I got a little confidence in my brakes, but I also ended up boiling my fluid with a couple minutes left in the session. Mine gave me a little scare as I had no warning until I went to make sure the brakes were there at the end of the straight. Luckily I checked them a little early and had enough time to pump them up and get the car turned in. I assumed I would fade the pads before boiling the fluid, so I guess I assumed wrong.

And Danny Popp is a crazy ***. I saw that blue vette and thought to myself that it looked an awful lot like Danny's. Especially when it came out of 10 like it was on a mission to rule the world. I'll be attending a lot more of these for sure.

Oh yeah, whoever had the wingless silver Evo up there inspired me to put my wingless trunk on today.

The only one he might be "whipping" is Carter. I run SM. In Carters defense the 275/40 V710's that Vince put on towards the end of the year gave him a good traction advantage.

hey if carter and I were running 275 710's I'm sure there wouldn't have been a question who would be chasing who.. I sucked it up yesterday for sure!! Having not been racing all summer I gotta brush the dust off!! But at least brian and I finnaly made carter stop thinking and just drive with correct tire preasures!!! and both carter and brian (who was driving my evo) on street tires only got beat by a few tenths soo imagine if they were on 710s.. hummmm

Yes, it was quite the weekend. Dropped my personal best by over 2 seconds (running mid-low 1:21's all weekend), chased a Porsche GT3 for an entire session, and had my first on track failure in 21 track days.

Nick - I saw your car, sorry I didn't get a chance to catch up with you.

Eli did well, scorching all of HPDE 1 and 2 by the end of his first time on that track. It may be time for some brake guides. I had zero brake problems for a change, but the tires were getting greasy after 3-4 laps. It did make for some entertaining driving though, as I was full lock a half dozen times throughut the weekend. The car always regained itself though and kept me out of the grass. That's thanks in large part to the PIC coilovers, those things are flat out amazing. Very compliant on the drive to and from the track, and obviously quite quick around the track when dialed in. Despite stiffening up the car a LOT from where it was, it was still very neutral and very predictable. Once the car is finally tuned (it's still rich and on stock timing), and I get some new rubber underneath it, the car will easily get into the 1:18-1:19 range which is where I need to be in my class to fight for the win. Second place on both days isn't too bad though.

Oh, and I do need to buy an LICP this week - not sure how long the donor radiator hose is going to last next to the downpipe.

Greg, I'm sure that was some entertaining laps when the tires feel like they are on ice skates.

You have a radiator hose for a LICP? Cool!!! What happened to the stock one?? Or do we not want to know???

Oh, question for the masses -- The nut that goes on the endlink of the rear sway bar...if one were to, oh i dunno, strip the nut when trying to make an adjustment...how would one get that nut off now since you do need an Alan wrench to make sure the end link does not just twist?
