Is anyone here going to Nopi? Just curious, I have been for the last 3 years and it seems to only get better each year....Of course that could be because I don't get lost as much in Atlanta lol. My car has been in the paint booth the last couple weeks recovering from a trip in a ditch I took when I was in Alabama a couple weeks ago, so I haven't been out, but it doesn't seem that I have missed too much. We need to get an Evo only meet together and actually people show up!

Roby?

Anyone here have feedback on dealing with Roby? Service or sales? (I have yet to hear negative feedback).

I stopped by the showroom to look at their Evos last year. Salesman told me no test drives unless we were serious about the car and allowed them to do a credit check. Seems like the keep people from thrashing their cars.

We went on a test drive at Dennis this weekend and just happened to see Ray in his MR. He gave us a warning with the sales guy in the car.

We don't know if we are going with a low milage stock used Evo VIII. The deal would need to be sweet to buy a new 05. An MR would be sweet, but it is risky to buy one used. Decisions, decisions...

Thanks for your feedback!

We in Columbus def. need to boycott this place...tell all your DSM buddies and everything. They suck *****.

If you don't believe me how bad they are, just go into their dealership and just talk to those people...sometimes you just want to ask them..."can I buy some drugs off of you?" They are so freaking dishonest...argh! I need to take a shower now!

You couldn't have said it better.

I was living in C'bus back in 2003 when I bought my Evo. I went to Dennis before the Evo even came to the US to ask questions. Good god they were so damn clueless. Had Evo 7's on their Windows desktops saying those were the 8's coming here, didn't know they were turbo charged or AWD, didn't know the power-engine specs.

Well hell, check this out. I wanted to trade my 2002 Z06 in for an Evo, before they were even here, and went to Dennis. The sales manager wanted my car soooo bad he wanted to make a deal. He then asked "why in the hell are you trading in a Z06 for an Evo?" I proceeded to tell him, a alot. Needless to say he was blown away. Geez, guy didn't even know what kind of car they were about to get. So, I leave and wait for his call to talk biz on a trade. No call, nothing. I go back, after I get an Evo from somehwere else, and what do I see? The ******* just got a brand new Evo.

Dennis is basically a crackhouse, that happens to sell cars.

god I wish I could've known this **** before I bought mine.... I just hope enough people are able to research and find these things out like Aspen.

From my experience w/ Roby, they took a look at my, charged me less than was expected for a rental, were honest and concerned about my situation (now all that was from their service manager, but hey, once you buy the car who are you going to deal with the rest of the time).

They have no and don't expect to get any more VIII's. I say hold off for the IX. It'll be worth it.

I hope this has helped you avert disaster Aspen.

I've heard Meade Engineering is pretty good in Columbus. Chris (silverevo8owner) is always praising them.

Chris,

why don't you coordinate a meet with Meade and the 30+ EVOs running around in southern ohio. It would be a great time. Maybe there will be enough to rent the Dyno for a day.

Please don't buy from Dennis. We have 1 guy on here who go f*ed with a beat up "new" MR from them, and they have screwed so so many people in Columbus over with their other sales...I'm too tired to rant about them...

Roby is hard to budge on price but they're pretty good people. Their parts guy's will hook you up pretty well too...very nice and knowledgable.

Basically, Adam on here bought a 05 EB specially shipped for him for under 30k out the door...but it's a dealer up in Chicago, so PM him..NADZERIN

good luck.

you tell it like how it is...

Seriously though,I wouldn't be surprised if you can buy drugs under the table there during off-hours...that's how shady they are.
