Import Wars @ Great Lakes Dragaway, Wisconsin on Sat. Aug. 20, 2005.

Has anyone previously been to Import Wars @ The Great Lakes Dragaway? Is it worth making the trip all the way up there? Is it a good show/good races?

I just kinda want to know if it's worth going to. The admission is $15 and this will be my first time going and I wanted it to be worth it.

Also anyone else on the boards hitting this up?

 

yeah man ive been there once before and its pretty sick....i might go but theres a show at a local body shop i get all my stuff done at.....and later that night is Tuner Bash After Dark at Mc-cormic place in chi town which im hitting up.......so im not sure which show im going to earlier that day but itll be fun

 

oh yea the Tuner Bash after dark...i'd rather see some races. I"m getting sick and tired of the car show scene...it's the same old crap. I'm hoping the races at GLD Import Wars is good.

 

the quick 16 races are usually pretty cool. There have been a few evos, but this little corolla always wins.

 

and supposedly tbad is postponed or cancelled or something.

 

^thats what i heard too. i talked to one of the promoters and he told me TBAD was cancelled. he said it bombed like crazy in the previous city....... not sure which. but yeah its cancelled.

 

ok, looks like if i get my car put back togeather on time ill be at import wars

 

if you want to see tbad go to the city, its there every friday and saturday any club you go to. Drag racing sounds like more fun. I'll be there.

 

Import Wars is a crap shoot. Sometimes it's cool....sometimes it sucks @$$. Personaly I would rather see some racing and a few nice cars...rather then a bunch of cars doing nothing sitting there looking pretty. Besides...since when do car shows have engines or trans that blow up right in front of you? LOL

 

We should all meet up beforehand and go to import wars together.

 

I probably won't be going. My buddy is having a bone fire/bbq because Fox Lake didn't blow off their fire works. The computer system running it crashed on the 4th so they are doing it on the 20th. Depending on when things are set...I might roll up there

 

GLD sucks, I can't stand going there, the announcer never shuts up. I'd rather drive the 2 hours to go to Joliet.

 

LOL he does get very annoying after a little while

 

i should've put a poll. Ok well everyone says it sucks except one person with the 2nd post. Who cares about the announcer...overall is it a good event for a first timer of Import Wars? Just want to see some good races w/o having the cops to bust it.

 

It's alright...it's worth it once in a while, some people go every time..but for me that's excessive
