I have a black 03 EVO with moon roof. It has 21K miles on it and is unmodded. I have never had a problem with the car and its never been abused. I am **** about maintenance and therefore the car has only seen the best of the best.

I dont drive this car in the winter so I figured I would try to sell it now and then get the EVO 9 in the spring. At 18000 miles replaced the stock Advans with new Advans and did a tranny, transfer, and rear end fluid flush.

Well for that asking price you might want to just try and trade it in to a dealer, see if they can give you a good trade in value. It's a shot in the dark, but it can't hurt. Just my suggestion. Good luck with the sale!

 

If the price of the EVO9 wasn't MSRP right now that is what I would do.

EDIT: Called the dealer today about a trade. The quoted me higher than I had expected. So price is firm at $22k because current trade is just a hair below that and I would save a bundle on taxes.

Any scratches, dent's, or problems?

The car has two blemishes. One very small scratch on the hood and one very small door ding.
No problems at all. I had a check engine light once and the dealer put a new gas cap on the car. I haven't had that since and that was many miles ago.

The car currently has the low profile wing on it. I can't stand having the big wing in my rear view mirror blocking my vision. I have the CF wing and can reinstall it for you if you so desire. Both wings will be included with the car.

does it have leather? or just the moonroof?

 

Leather was unavailable in '03 so I would assume that it doesn't have it (unless he added it custom).

No leather and no infinity sound system. It has HIDs and the moon roof which are two things I MUST HAVE. I have been getting a TON of requests for pictures. I will be sending them off tonight.

FYI - I have been working with another dealer. He has offered me a retail to retail trade on my EVO8 to and EVO9 w/SSL. Basically I would get 23,500 for my evo towards 34519 on the nine with ssl. I'm pretty sure this is a decent deal but I dont know if its worth 11k to get nearly the same darn car. The thing I didn't know was that to get HID's and moonroof you have to get the SSL package which adds a few grand to the price. For a guy that doesn't really drive the hell out of his car I almost think its not worth it. I keep cars a very shot time and dont think it would be smart to swallow the depreciation on the 06 when the EVO10 is release. (I am planning on getting the 10 when its available)

What do you fellas think of that deal and what would you do if you were me? I really love my 8 but also love the new car smell LOL.

 

Seeing as you just use the car to pose in I say you should keep this car and start taking it to autocrosses and track days, find out what the car can do, improve your driving and have a ton of fun at the same time. There is an autocross up near Plover Oct. 30th that you could check out seeing as you are in central Wisc. Ask for Tom at registration and tell him the A$$hole with the yellow Evo sent you and you are new. He will take care of you and show you the ropes.

If you were the kind of guy to do this kind of stuff already then I would say trade, I haven't driven a 9, but I have driven an '05 8 and they handle a lot nicer than the '03s with their front LSD and active centre diff.
