Buschur, AMS, APS, Greddy, Meghan...There;s a thread somewhere about exhaust and the IX. From what I've heard everything on the VIII will fit the IX, you may have to remove a peice to prevent bumping into the driveshaft.

Wish I could make it. My Evo needs some attention (i.e. new coils), she's such a demanding little thing. I'll have to hit the next one.

Man, too bad you can't make it. I want to see how your car is with those cams. I myself have GSC's but there not in yet.

You wouldn't be too impressed right now. With the bad coil any boosting makes it misfire. I'm having a bunch of work done to it in two weeks, should be ship shape by then.

WORKS catback (76mm intermediate pipe and their WORKS exhale muffler) or
Buschur catback

I would recommend you do things in stages to eliminate any potential problems and/or to make diagnosing/troubleshooting a problem easier. Do things 1 or 2 at a time. I have had Buschur and now WORKS, and while Buschur's parts come in quite a bit cheaper I think WORKS makes as nice if not a nicer quality component, WORKS also has a full Turbo Back exhaust.

I would start first with a 3" catback and a flash, you should see some pretty noticable gains on the IX from just that alone for about $1000. You could try Buschur or a WORKS catback setup and try either the Dynoflash first to save a little money and see how that works and if your having issues with the Dynoflash get WORKS to flash with the P2 brain flash. The brain flash is nice because they include the upgraded stock boost lines to hold the boost at 19.5psi all the way to redline, and speaking from experience IT HOLDS as advertised!

Start little and drive with those parts for a while to make sure the CEL (Check Engine Light) is not tripping. EVO's can be a picky car, so make your life easier and do a part here and there and drive it for 5000 miles to make sure your not having CEL problems and then build from there. If you drop 3-4k down on a bunch of stuff and you start having issues your going to find the whole experience to be nerve racking and bothersome. This is just my .02c after having dropped 4k into a MR only to be annoyed by all sorts of issues (some minor, some annoyances, some critical).

WORKS makes quality stuff and they have EXCELLENT customer support/service and are always willing to spend time to answer questions or concerns. You will pay a little more but they honor/warranty the parts for a std. warranty time like 3/36,000, and they jig all their parts to fit like stock.

I have yet to have a problem with my setup on my 2005 tripping a CEL and I only have -

WORKS 3" Intermediate Pipe w/Stealth WORKS muffler
WORKS drop-in air filter
WORKS P2r brain flash 92 octane
WORKS Diverter Valve

My car woke up like a completely different animal after just those 4 pieces!

Jonathan,

I totally agree. It's too bad there's always someone that has too ruin it for the rest of us who just want to hang out safely. People start burn outs and speeding, and we all get kicked out. Especially when they see 10 EVO's lined up, they're just anxious to taunt and race us. Tonight, everyone was just waiting for us. Last night, I had three cars follow me on to the freeway waiting to race. I had my family with me and just laughed at them. I need a big bumper sticker reading, "meet me at the track the legal way."

We do need our own place. I just can't think of any other parking lot that we could legally meet at. Tonight when we met at 8:30, we had the whole curbside to ourselves, which was nice. We'll have to put our heads together and find a safer lot. I think the Foodsmart curbside is just more appealing because we get to see so many other cars. It was fun meeting all the members and hanging out though. See you next week.

Paulo

Well, this is just a suggestion but we could meet by Wendy's and grab some food and technically be patronizing (i.e. doing business) with them.

Just a thought...but if we are conducting business or buying their food/drinks we have every right to be in the parking lot there.

Any other thoughts...

I wonder if the Subie guys are able to meet in the Firestone lot because someone there knows the owner or works there?

Yes, I believe someone owns the store and grants permission for the Suby members to park.

We'll just all have to pitch in and buy Foodsmart! LOL!
