Last year I payed 30 for a GSR with SSL, which was 1k below invoice. But that was also an 04 that they hadn't sold from the year before. Around here, I'd say if you can get pretty close to invoice, you've done well.

Arapahoe Mitsu had an 06 IX GG MR marked $4000 ABOVE MSRP, so it totalled over $40k!!! I had a hell of a time talking them down to just MSRP before I was willing to buy it.
He must have got a serious "buddy hookup" or something, thats not normal to get a $4k discount on a brand new MR, thats $2k below invoice... Was it damaged or had too many miles to be considered new?
To the original post- I ended up paying MSRP for a GG IX MR from Arapahoe Mitsu.. The sales guys there wre really cool (Justin and Matt) and actually know what they're talking about. All my financial stuff I handled directly with the financing manager. Evos aren't terribly common in Co, I RARELY see others on the road, typically only at meets.
There's only one thing I want to say about Skyline Mitsubishi........ I want them out of business.
Their service department sucks, their parts department is clueless and they will void your warranty if you put an exhaust on because they are clueless. The dealership as a whole is clueless.

It was 6k cheaper in Kansas than Colorado at the time (I think that covered the plane ticket!)

don't use me a reference, they were not happy when I left
I got their first ever EVO and "IceSlidinFool" got the second which is now a Formula D drift car
I called every dealership in the west (I kid you not) back in 2002 to line up my car and Kansas was the best deal.
