.then walked up front and gave me a plate ticket as well.

I am pretty sure SEMA stalled that bill before is passed. I would contact the SEMA Action network.

Hmm, minor tickets. . . "get lost tickets" were you somewhere that cops have had to deal with problems from poeple congregating? Do you or someone you're close to have a history in any of those towns?

I drive through them regularly, I am loud and I haven't been stopped there.

As far as the laws go, it's not like they're private. If you willingly and knowingly give someone a reason to pull you over no matter how minor or pointless you may think it is, you've done your part to assist them in pulling you over and hassling you over stupid ****.

Also, FWIW here's a bit on the exhaust law:
347.39 Mufflers. (1) No person shall operate on a highway
any motor vehicle subject to registration unless such motor
vehicle is equipped with an adequate muffler in constant operation
and properly maintained to prevent any excessive or unusual noise
or annoying smoke. This subsection also applies to motor
bicycles.
(2) No muffler or exhaust system on any vehicle mentioned in
sub. (1) shall be equipped with a cutout, bypass or similar device
nor shall there be installed in the exhaust system of any such
vehicle any device to ignite exhaust gases so as to produce flame
within or without the exhaust system. No person shall modify the
exhaust system of any such motor vehicle in a manner which will
amplify or increase the noise emitted by the motor of such vehicle
above that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the
vehicle, and such original muffler shall comply with all the
requirements of this section.
(3) In this section, “muffler” means a device consisting of a
series of chambers of baffle plates or other mechanical design for
receiving exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine and
which is effective in reducing noise.

I can't say that I have many problems, and I live in a town close to as bad as naperville when it comes to the officers not having anything to do.

You seem to be "lucky"

If I owned an Evo and got pulled over for "Obstruction of Vision" because of the factory wing, I'd certainly lose it.

I haven't really gotten ANY attention from the police with my Evo *knocks on wood*

I noticed I drive this car a lot slower than my previous car: 2000 Ford Contour SE supercharged.

With that being said I got A LOT of tickets with the Contour. Seemed to stick out more than my Evo....but like I said I drove the Contour a lot harder, faster, etc.

Good rule of thumb is: don't drive all crazy, cops probably won't bother you.

There are exceptions though.

i never get hasselled for my wing and i live in schaumburg. your cop was just being a d*ck. i got pulled over in hoffman...all i got was a "speeding" ticket which was bs, but no comment about my tints, wing, or lack of front plate. do you have the hole drilled in up front for the bracket. i told my dealer not to do that when the car came in. i think in the end the cops are trying to fill quota and being d*cks.
