How many of you guys get hassled with your evo's?

In the past 3 weeks I have been pulled over 3 times and given 6 tickets....wtf?

Week 1: No front plate/ Exhaust

Week 2: Pulled me over for the plate...showed him i just got a ticket...saw my back window tints & asked me to put my front window up a bit....Tint Ticket then exhaust ticket.

Week 3: Obstruction of view (wing...even though it's perfectly legal) & No Front Plate....these bs. tickets were given by a STATE TROOPER...

Getting old really fast...

Anyone else having the same problems? Cops are really trying to crack down on dumb stuff...

 

can i ask where you got the tickets?

I drive from the nw burbs to lincoln park daily, and haven't gotten any trouble yet...not even in my wrx which was loud as sin

I did, however, get in trouble with my wrx in arlington heights and chrystal lake for exhaust...

 

Week 1 Naperville

Week 2 South Elgin

Week 3 Elgin-Ohare Expressway

My car is so quiet as well...it's just more of a harassing matter without a doubt. Week1 i barely pulled onto the road from a parking lot not even going 5mph when the cop turned on his lights...(he was behind me) said he pulled me over for exhaust...not because of the noise or lack there of but because supposedly according to this officer ANY aftermarket exahust is illegal in the state of IL regardless of wether it passes emissions or sound level it is ALL illegal...**cough cough** BS!

.then walked up front and gave me a plate ticket as well.

 

damn, those all really suck. the only bright side, they're not moving violations so insurance won't go up make sure you talk to dryad01 in the milw chat. he had a thread about the spoiler being an obstruction of vision a while back. he got out of is somehow, even after the first court date when the judge ruled against him.

and i hate to say it, but now that they have you pegged, they're gonna give you schit for a while. good luck!

 

Naperthrill is always an issue to drive in. I have been pulled over once in the last year and a half for loud exhaust, had a gun in the car and told the cop so he said since I was honest he'd let me go. Honesty can go a long way. Got pulled over on thanksgiving by a state pooper for no plate and told him I have the bracket on order from Mitsu and he gave me a warning. Honesty is great.

 

What kind of exhaust do you have?

 

yeah i usually get crap by the boys in blue in st.charles/geneva/aurora section...im from elgin maybe thats why they hate me so much....im in ur same situation.....havent had any repete tickets though...only the tints....3 tickets so far for tints

Sorry to threadjack but last month ended in hell :

• Pulled over in schuamburg for loud exhuast -----conclusion is that i was let go !
• Harwood heights wreckless driving ,speeding on harlem by the HIP ----conclusion is i was lectured an let go !
• Speeding 25 over the speed limit in schiller pk by o'hare ----conclusion is that i was let go !

Alll this an i was already driving on a bs squeling tires ticket from chicago an they still let me go until the 30th of last month i got 3 tickets in chicago (friend didn't have seatbelt on,speeding,an not changing my address on my DL) But i feel for u man trust me i do!!
