GLD is garbage. Byron or US41 are much better. I might tag along Chris if it's alright with you. Maybe I can get Brian M. to come out.

I heard that GLD has some nice pot holes at the starting line that they haven't fixed; I'm thinking Byron it is. Plus doppler radar says 30% rain for Byron vs 40% for GLD and Byron is a little closer. I'll probably take off around 9-10 am to get some runs in before it gets busy. Hopefully this weather will hold out

I agree with Shaitiger that GLD is garbage. Last time I ran there was last month & on both lanes there is a pot hole that tapers down to a crack across the track about 5 feet from the tree. The only way to avoid it is to run on the side which does not have a lot of traction. I am available to go but I am still debating if I should. Anyone been there lately? Is this pot hole been fixed? How about Byron or US41?

In my opinion, US41 is the best track out there but it's a hike (1.5 hours). Weather looks pretty good over there as well. I'll let you know if we head out with you to Byron Chris. I won't be racing and I don't think B will either. We might just tag along.

I just called and got a recording saying the gates open at 9am and racing starts at 10am. They said to call before if there is bad weather in the area. Byron is a nice track and the view of the nuclear plant provides nice scenery

GLD has always been garbage. i use to go there all the time. if they knew what track prep was and actually give a crap about it...

It will never change, it's getting run into the ground.

Cool. So are you definitely going to Byron & not GLD?
