My Neighbors Son

Hi All:

Don't get pissed becaus this isn't a "bash the EVO owners" note. Just had to vent. I'm by no means old and was a teenager once too.

My neighbor's son(about age 17) has already had two accidents, one of which almost cost him his life about 1 1/2 years ago. After the big accident the son was drving an Acura RSX. Eight days ago he shows up with a very nice silver EVO. Another neighbor (tweaked Audi S4 owner and car nut like me) comments how this isn't the smartest parental move.

I come home from work last night to find a piece of fender just up the street from our cul de sac, turn onto our court to see his EVO in the middle of the street with the right front smashed, both airbags popped and said son sitting in the front seat waiting for the tow truck. Seems he drove into our neighborhood (younger sister in the car with him) and clocked a tree along the street.

I'm confident the parents had no idea the EVO was the performance car it is. The only redeeming thing about this is no other children were outside playing (and it was 60 degrees here yesterday) when brilliance hit the tree.

Happy Motoring and drive safe!

Feff

Hopefully this is a wake up call to his parents. Driving carelessly by yourself is one thing, but when you endanger someone else’s life that is totally different. Hopefully his sister is alright.

17? 17??!?!?!?! When I was 17 I was driving a beat up talon thinking about how I'm going to bust my *** in school to get a decent job so I can actually have the right to 'think' about getting an Evo!

I don't hate all rich people... BUT G** DA** THE STUPID ONES!!! And the parents! What the HELL where they thinking? It is indeed a great thing (miracle) that no one else was out there to get mowed down by this moron. So the only damage is his car and OUR insurance rates :-(

well its sounds like he didt deserve it....so he took care of that problem for us....there is really no explanation for people who do dumb things....its runs in the family...
A)Kid totals 2? cars
B)Parents buy kid a faster more expensive car
C)Kid totals? new faster more expensive car...
D)Dumb people still do dumb things...

Little guilt from the parents over the divorce, I think. Jr. pretty much gets what he asks dad for. Fortunately everyone seems OK (not sure about the tree!).

Happy Motoring!

Dude... not okay. I can understand buying your kid a nice car, but when he SCREWS IT UP, don't get him a new car, let alone a nicer one!!! Baffles my mind. Don't know what they're thinking. I hope they don't buy him another nice car. That's three strikes, if any car, get him a Geo Metro.

Very sad about that. Luckily he hit that tree first before hitting someone . The parents suppose to know what's good or not.
