It was never called the "COBB Challenge", but whatever? And 3100 pounds with driver is far from "portly". An STI in SCCA T2 trim needs to weight over 3400 pounds without driver. We could drop the weight down to 2,200 pounds and put the class well out of reach for the average racer's budget. When you throw in a heavy cage and portly driver you are still looking at pulling out over 300 pounds from a stock EVO and even more from a stock STI.

Heavy cage? What are you building them out of? Lead?
What does an SCCA rule have to do with anything? Plus, i don't think a subaru will ever be an issue since they can't stay together long enough to finish a race anyway.
From what i hear this series will be dead before its inception due to poor rule-making and a general lack of experience amongst the makers thereof.
Cool site though.

But give it some time, the series is officially only a few weeks old.

The series will be a lot of hard work, and if the competitors support the series, in the end the series will support them. The idea is good, the rules are just about dead on and the people running and promoting the series (like ME) are passionate. And if the enthusiast community takes a look at the overall concept, hopefully they will support the series and make it an overwhelming success.
