hey guys, my first post. ill be looking to pick up/order an evo within the next few weeks, im located in the NW suburban area of chicago. i know what dealers around are selling at MSRP and which are not from the list, just wondering if anyone has bought in the area and what their experiences were, good or bad. im leaning towards ordering a car as opposed to one with 100 test drive miles on it to avoid possible future problems, its worth the wait. any recommendations/comments on area dealers?? im even willing to drive a few hours to meet with some nice people or get a good deal. thanks for any info.

 

i heard max madsen was pretty good. there's one red evo at Tom Noe's in Park Ridge right now, they're not too bad if u know how to negotiate prices..

talk to Fireball i think he works at a dealer in Wisconsin and if u're willing to drive north, u should have a good experience there. Where are u from btw?

 

I don't know who's good or bad w/ the evo list but I've always been happy w/ the service & treatment at Biggers on Rt. 19 in Elgin.

 

ok thats a start thanks guys. im in hanover park by the way, just south of schaumburg im sure everyone knows where schaumburg is. a friend of mine recommended me to a salesman at biggers, said hes hooked up a few mutual friends so im gonna try that. i know max madsen is on the MSRP list. yeah i PMed fireball to find out where hes at, like i said its worth the wait knowing your car wont be ragged out by the time you get it and worth driving a few hours if you get a good deal. thanks

 

i plan on talking to at least 3-4 dealerships before i order. its almost like deciding which value meal to get at mcdonalds, haha.

I bought mine from Larry Roesch in Orland Park, IL.

I paid $500 under MSRP.

Also, I was in there last Friday and they had just received a Black one.

 

I'm in the process of getting mine. I've talked to several dealerships including Biggers in Elgin, Schaumburg, and Max Madsen in Downer's Grove. Schaumburg was very rude. Elgin was cool cuz I bought my Eclipse there so I'm like a repeat customer to them. Downers Grove was cool also, but didn't like the way they were pushing me to buy a car with a $125 shift knob that I could get on E-bay for less than $50. They had 3 Evos there though. So far, I could go either with Elgin or Downers Grove. I might buy within the week. Stay tuned.

yeah youre right, that commercial is one of the gayer ones out there. you heard the kia one yet "im gonna get me a kia...etc." its worse than mitsubishi man. thats cool youre in streamwood. once i get my evo well have to hang out. i checked the webiste, looks like it will be pretty cool once you guys get it finished. i find out about a job tomorrow. if i get it ill be starting the police academy july 7, which means ill order my evo then, have a month or so before it gets here to save up a nice down payment and then it will be all good. thanks for the input everyone, highrev keep us posted on the ordeal.....

jeff here, nice to meet everyone. i was unaware this area was packed with so many lancer/evo owners. now i just have to land this job so i can be one of them!!!

 

I've got a contact over at Max Madsen Countryside who can work w/ you. I got mine for a very good price (better than the $500 below msrp), and I'm sure I can help any members out get the same price. I'm hesistant to say how much I paid, because the dealership did ask me to not mention it on the boards. Shoot me a PM for more info.

I got an O.Z. from libertyville, off milwaukee and they were real cool there, gave me anything and didnt try to bull**** me. ask for George. they had a red one and a yellow one there
