Talking Racing W/ An Automatic?? I am..

I just bought myself a Lancer OZ Rally. Its a Great car, its just that... Its Automatic... I know 5speed cars are awhole lot better but... cant an Automatic do the same?? if not... can't it do anything close?? I need help making my car faster and i know nothing about cars... I was wondering if Y'alls can help me out... I know I know... just use search or go though the newbie section... I did... I tried... but no result... just some strange things that didnt help me at all... So...is it possible to make my car run fast?? not a whole lot faster but faster... and how do I make it look Good... I want a little of both...also... I'm not rich... so... help me out...

Just hook your self up with a new tq converter...that way you won't loose any power or tq when accelerating from a stop. I've heard good things about Level10. In fact if you were totally serious about moding the lancer fully and keeping it for a while, they can do your whole tranny.....then it will be better than a manual shiftwise.

count me in too...I think just a tq converter would be good for now though.....I'd assume the labor to install/remove is gonna kill us though.

Uranium. I am actually enrolled in a automatic transmission class at the local community college and we are removing and completely overhauling a front wheel drive auto this quarter so I will let you know what is involved.
