FUDruckers lol. That was fun. It was a good meet until lateron in the night. When the Hondatech guys came and began their hijinks. I guess if they can't act a fool at their own meet they will do it at someone elses. Realy unfortunate for us. No offense but I noticed a decline in quality meets as the evo became cheaper and the younger crowd started trading in their hondas and such. I could be wrong but that's what I observed. The evo community became very clicky and exclusive. Its seems to be getting better. Maybe the evo being the cool trendy thing is ending and its back to the core enthusiasts again.

Hondatech? Wasn't it an EvolutionM member in their Evo doing the donuts in the parking lot?

Yea. He invited his hondatech friends to the meet. He came with them. He was showing off for them. How cool he was, that rich daddy baught him an evo. He and his friends were not at the meet earlier they came later because he knew we got ok from management to be there.

As far as joining them, while I may not own a Subaru I am a long time member of MWSOC and ran the Midwest Shootout the two years prior to this and IMO its safe to say that it's not an open meet. Those who attended the old borders meets up until the point 'hardcore' streetracers with weapons ruined it will surely understand why.
Yeah you will always get some douche thinking there cool doing donuts, burnouts, lunches or what ever. Shame on them for giving the Evo community a bad name. ITS LAME PEOPLE GET WISE! I loved the term asshattery btw

I can understand the philosophy of having closed meet, keeps the riff raff out. I think if Evo M members officially asked the subby crew they may let us join in on the fun. Hell we could make it a AWD, TURBO Sedan meet, what else have we got... Audi Quattro, Volvo S60, BMW 3 series XI, Mazdaspeed 6, Saab 9-3 turbo X.... I can't think of any more ?

I think this is a better idea, I think the best part of meets is meeting people who share the same hobby that you might not run in to on the street. especially when it involves all makes and models of cars. I would consider myself an enthusiast to say the least. So i would love sit around wit a bunch AWD cars and shoot the ****,

A few you missed....cant forget the few and fortunate lambos, porsche, skylines.... So on and so on.

But no matter where you go there is always gunna be that guy who wants to up his street credit by being the guy trying zero spins in a parking lot full of other cars in a highly populated area!!!

Then you guys may want to check out the Saturday JGTCA meets, this has been rehashed time and time again in the Subaru camp with the same outcome(no). For the most part it's a Subaru meet, and judging by attendance for the most part nasioc as well.

Based on votes, it's looking like:

CTA Bus Stop
Starting at 9:00pm
Thursday nights beginning July 17th.

**keep in mind the plaza Border's bookstore is in has a HUGE parking lot, we don't have to share the parking lot with the Subie guys if they don't want us there -we'll just scoot over .

Schaumburg's a huge place, if you want this post to exist find somewhere else.

If you think I'm being a dick I'm not, I just think it's an exceptionally rude move to do this. You of all people know what happened last time and I don't think it's too much to ask to have a little respect and not have it in the same spot at the same freaking time. I've talked to a handfull of people in the subaru camp and the overwhelming answer is no, no and no.

Sod Em then.... I know why Brian is doing this, he is scared that there will be trouble. This combined with them saying no really does say alot about their community.
Even if it is a public parking lot and we could be there if we really wanted.... the Subie meet is a CLOSED meet, meaning subarus only.
If WE the Evo community can't put a CLOSED Evo meet together on our own, then that itself really says something about our community.

In my opinion Thursday should not be an option. So the voting on this thread is waste of time because 45.5% of votes so far are for Thursday. We need a new thread with a new poll. Maybe with:

Friday 18th July,
Saturday 19th July,
Monday 21st July,

as a suggestion. Now how do we know there isn't any other car meets on these days. For example; we don't want any trouble with "insert car forum here" now do we?

Another option would be to change location. Brian is right, "Schaumburg's a huge place,". and Woodfield mall's parking lot is pretty big... we could be on the other side of the mall and the Subie guys wouldn't even know we were there.

In my opinion I think it's easier to change the date.

I'm not so much scared that there will be trouble I just think it's just a downright rude thing to do. Just like when someone setup an evom meet a while back and people got upset that someone invited the chidsm guys, it's just better to leave groups be. If you want to have a mingled meet with bunches of cars by all means do it, but at least do it at a different time/place or better yet attend the well established Saturday JGTCA meets.

Also, for a history lesson. There used to be 'open'(open as in hugs for all!) meets at borders, this ended when a handfull of people decided to jump someone else with ASPS over a hardcore small dollar streetrace gone south. The police were called, someone was taken to the ER with a concussion and major head wounds and we(subaru crowd) were told that we weren't welcome back there and that people would be arrested if we came back.

First off, if we can lets try to make it earlier than 9 since its a weekday i am sure most will have work the following day. also this gives us more time to "hang out" rather than people showing up at 9 then staying for an hour cuz its gonna take them another 30 minutes or so just to drive back home.

secondly, i dont see the need to join other club meets. the amount of responses here shows that there is a handful of people who know what they want and what they dont want to see in an evo meet.

just my 2 cents.....

This thread shows exactly why whe can't have meets. I am happy not even having a meet. Bryan is right on. Leave other clubs alone.
