Toss some more boost at that thing. Peeps run 30psi all day on E85 and stock turbos

Not to start an argument here, but knock on shift should not be an issue in any way for a car that is properly timed in the shift area... especially a drag car. I don't see how power shifting a stock trans and/or lifting could ever be faster unless something was seriously wrong.

99% of shift knock is caused by two high of timing in areas that don't matter for driving (esp dragging) anyway. Every now and then it is from a clutch or rattly exhaust, but NLTS generally helps these as the engine shifts/bucks less on shift.

Check out some of the posts in the ecuflash forum or contact me if you need help with this.

Also, if this is for all out dragging you can just bump the knock filters since you aren't loaded there anyway, but that is a bad bandaid.

. Exactly. This is just the start..we have a LOT of space still left. It will "easily" hit the goal intended before the end of this season.

1NastyMR: this is also a FULL WEIGHT/SHOWROOM INTERIOR SSL car with "heavy" wheel/tyre setup that's meant for road-racing not drag racing :P and at 26psi at that! If I remember correctly you were running upwards of 30psi and gutted interior on an already "light" SE.

Frosty: Jon, his car has a loud clutch that is definitely triggering the knock sensor. Next time around I am going to play with it to see if I can semi-desensitize the knock sensor so that it wont be as buggy at the launch (as its not real; verified). I know what you're talking about and plan on implementing it alongside the knock on initial shift while on NLTS .

Great times. What was your rev limiter set at? I would imagine that you would max out much closer to 120mph with those tires with a stock 7800rpm limiter. I wouldn't blame the slow trap (relative to your et) on hitting the rev limiter as your 1/8th mile is right on track with your 1/4 mile trap. Just for the record the RE01R's have a relatively soft sidewall, making them a good tire for people who enjoy drag and road racing.

RPF1's are certainly not heavy, you know that.

^^ I meant comparatively to stock MR wheels with OE tyres. I find it strange that he was bouncing off the factory limiter hence why I will be with him at the track fine tuning the beast next time around. Something goofy is definitely going on.

I don't know what the MR wheels weigh, but I do know that those RPF1s weight about 16.5lbs and I would guess the BBS' are around 18. I'm not here to split hairs as those 2lbs per corner won't make a noticeable difference, but they are very light wheels.

The trap speed confuses me as well, like I already stated, 7800rpm plus those tires should equate to 120 without much of a hitch, assuming that the power is there.

I don't remember what cams this car has, but it could just be falling on its face in fourth or the NLTS could be causing some shift knock.

BBS- 17.74lbs
A046- 25lbs
= 171lbs

RPF1- 16.75lbs
RE-01R- 32lbs
=195lbs

24lbs rotational unsprung mass is a hefty chunk if you ask me especially when you consider you generally multiply that by FIVE to get an idea of how much "weight" you actually take "off" the car.

Car looks awesome man...very nice mods list you have...Why is your rev limiter only set at 7500?? Very nice times for bouncing off your limiter for that long before passing through the 1/4...Are you planning on running 10s with your current wheel and tire setup?? And you can def. shift the sh*t out of your car haha...Good luck man...looking forward to more videos....

As mentioned before, it was something I was requested not to change at the time. For the next trip I am going to make sure he will be able to benefit from the high RPM range where the FP4R cams shine! Look forward for updates .

The only interior removed from my car is the carpet. Also e85 wasn't really Big in the Evo community yet last year Meth was so I ran 110 octane instead with 30psi falling to like 25 due to stock wastegate actuator. You can also run more timing on e85 which is nice.

I'm just guessing but I think the car will need at least 30 psi to break into 10's since his 60 foot isn't getting much better then what that time slip shows unless he slicked it up.
