In search of my old car. Chicagoland area.

I'm trying to get in touch with the current owner of my old Evo.

It's an Apex Silver 2005 Evo 8 GSR with an JDM Evo 9 rear and Evo 9 front.

I believe the gentleman I sold it to was named Mike also, and he either owned or was in some way involved in a pizza shop. Don't know the guys last name, nor the name of the restaurant.

Here is a picture of the car the day it was sold.

I just wanted to touch base with the current owner and check up on the car.

If anyone can put me in touch, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

i remember looking at this car on a dealer lot. it was some small dealer that had ferraris and stuff there too.

i test drove it and man i couldn't take the vibrations. plus they were asking too much, other than that, i don't know who bought the car.

It had a JIC-Magic coilovers and a full set of motor mount bushings, but I never thought it was too bad.

I think Chicago motor cars had that car for a while, they may be able to help you out.

It would have been nice if the project progressed and more things were done to the car that I didn't get around to doing, but I understand not everyone has the same goals for a car.

I just hope it wasn't wrecked or something.

PM sent.

I don't mean to bring this thread back from the dead. But I spoke with Mike on the phone earlier, and I thought this might be a good place to show you what your car is.

I just bought this car from a woman in Grand Rapids, MI who bought it from the dealer in Chicago. I live in Florida, and it is now back near home in Fort Myers, FL away from salt and snow.

From about 40k-63k miles the Forge wastegate actuator was loose and the woman had no idea it wasn't going into boost. Once I tightened down the wastegate it ran just fine.

The car does seem to be stripped of most of the nice parts, which is very sad to find out. But I am still VERY pleased with the car so far.

The car still has several Forge Motorsports parts on it and the one-off intercooler along with the Work Emotions and a few other random things.

I do plan to bring this car back to where it should be asap. It will eventually progress in the same direction it had been previously. Finding out this much about the car really gives me more motivation to make the original owner proud. I would want the same thing!

Here are some pictures of what she looks like today. (The front bumper will be replaced very soon!!!!)

The bumper was the only thing negative about it! I wish they hadn't done that. But for $8000 I couldn't complain too much. Car runs great, looks great (aside from front bumper), and will soon be back on the right track.

I will be de-ricing it as soon as I possibly can haha.

Yeah, I'm looking for an evo 8/9 bumper now. I can't stand the look. If anybody has one for sale please let me know!!!!!

Poor car is right. The lady didn't know ANYTHING about it, and it sat for a couple months because she "quit racing and wanted to sell it". haha. She raced an all motor evo with a loose wastegate for 20k miles. Wow.
