Hi MN people
I've got the Piper Rally cams. I still need to set them up with a proper base tune once I have my car back. I'll be doing that after Noah at SpeedLab gets the alignment and cornerweighting dialed in again. After all my car has been though, I expect there will be some adjustments there.
After a brief chat with the body shop today, it seems there is chance I won't have my car this week. It looks like some of the needed hardware hasn't shown up yet; I'm hoping everything works out, though.

Finally got around to installing the HKS 264/272 cams and they rock. It was a little time consuming but not to difficult. As for comparison to stock, it's just a tad louder than stock. Almost can't even tell b/w the 2 other than it's a little choppy on the exhaust note. Not annoying at all. I you don't pay attention and listen to the exhaust you probable won't even hear the difference. As for power, it does pull harder mid to high rmp range. I just finished the install yesterday late night and didn't get a chance to test it until this morning. Man....I think I'm in love with my car all over again. Almost didn't want to bring the car back home. If anyone is looking to install cams, I could probably provide some info or perhaps stop by and offer assistance....I did doe mine without taking the time belt apart which saved alot of time. Probably not the most practicle way but worked for me. Oh one last thing I forgot to mention was that since I was doing the cams anyways I ordered some ARP cylinder head studs and install those as well. Now just waiting on a nice custome.

Nice job on the cams! I've finally got my car back, and I need to spend some time with the wideband and adjustable gears to get things right.
Noah did the fitting on my Exhaust for the wideband, and he's done alot of the set-up on my coilovers. I'd show for the Event, but I'll be in Chicago for tuning by Shiv this Saturday.
I'll be sure to provide some feedback once my Pipers are dialed in right.
Oh, quick note about the body shop - they did an AWSOME job! after the car came back none of the alignmnet settings neede to be moved over 1/4 of a degree. This was after some pretty serious work that included much of the drivers side and replacing the roof. After all that, the car still feels as solid as it did when new, too. The work was done at the Hopkin Honda body shop. Neil is the manager there.

Hey what's up Noah, I've met you a few months back. I'm the guy that has the Yellow Evo, that day you and your assistant was there at the shop and showed you and him my car out in the parking lot of your shop, sorry forgot his name but you two are cool guys. Erioshi, glad you got your car back. Fill me in on how you like the Pipers. Are there any other guys in here that's got cams also. Mines kind of choppy, sounds like cars choking and wants to die but rpm is at 800-900. I'm guessing this is normal for cams. This is the first time I install aftermarket cams on any car so I don't know what the difference is but from reading and searching choppy sound seems to be normal, at WOT, car really wakes up
. I really feel like a menace now
I might have to go and get some therapy
boost is very addicting.

I did a bit of tuning with the cams earlier tonight and managed to bring my lope down to a reasonable level. While I'll miss the sound, the car doesn't keep trying to die on me anymore.
To smooth out the lope I added 3/10 of a degree of ignition advance and a bit of extra fuel. I have an intake installed, so your results might be different.
I still need to do more work with the cams to figure them out completely, but they seem to be capable of some pretty impressive power. I've been using one of Shiv's Stage 1+ maps as a base to build from, but the cams are still overruning the map and pulling timing.
I may just have to wait until this Saturday and let Shiv sort out how to tune them. At least with the wideband I've been able to keep my car from running too lean at any point and make sure the off boost AFRs are safe.
Aside from not being able to use all their power yet, I'm happy with them. Day to day driveability has been fine; once you're off idle they drive like normal, just with more power. Once they are tuned properly the car should be even more fun.

Erioshi, how much power are you putting down if you were to guess? Sounds like you have a good set up. What intake do you have? Do you have cam gears also? To give it more fuel you would have to have an adjustable feul pressure regulator right? I have the HKS RS intake on mine I've also upgrade my feul pump to the 255 walbarge. At the time that I have my ECU flashed, it was flashed for the stock feul pump. After I installed the 255 pump, the car was running a little rich so I'm guessing I'm still safe without any fuel adjustments for now. I like to check out your setup sometime. Keep me posted on how your car is running. Have fun driving to Chicago.
After this weekend everything should be sorted out. Here's a quick summary of my power related mods. Not too much there, but I like to start with the basics and change one thing at a time to see what works.
Intake: K&N Typhoon
Cams: Piper Rally Cams with Ferrea valve springs and retainers.
Cam Gears: Vishnu - came with my Stage One kit.
Fuel Pump: Walbro 255
Fuel/Timing/Boost: XEDE (part of Stage 1 kit) plus ECU reflash for higher RPM limit and raised Boot Cut.
Exhaust: 3" Vishnu turbo back (bolts right to the turbo - part of Stage 1 kit).
Once I'm back from Chicago I'd be glad to show you my car. If you come visit me at a track day I'll even bounce you around at speed.

OK, back from Chicago with some results. The car is now putting down 292 whp / 272 torque based on the DynoJet at the Porsche Exchange. I had hoped for more, but there wasn't enough time to work on cam timing.
For comparison, cars set up like mine were hitting between about 285 and 300 whp running HKS cams on 93/94 octane with the cams dialed in right. One car hit 320 whp, but it also had an intercooler, MBC and (I think) some other mods.
My cams were dialed in at 0/0 for the event because I figured the intake would be a pain to tune around (it was). Shiv said the car was being limited by the cam timing after he got the AFRs dialed in around the intake. I knew that would be the case, and now I have a solid map to start building on for future tuning.
Yesterday I managed to get some better info for dialing in the cam timing from the vendor, and I've reserved the Dyno at RS Motorsports in St. Paul starting about 3:00 PM Tuesday. I'll be working through some cam settings and then hopefully dialing in the AFRs and ignition timing a bit more.
I'll post some details after I've worked on things a bit tomorrow.

Noah of SpeedLab,
Great write up in the paper last weekend! Although I wonder about some of the published stats - you spend $10,000 to get the car to 4.7sec 0-60MPH? Please say it ain't so....
