!!!!!!!!!!car stolen!!!!!!!!!!!desplaines area 60016
guys i got finished talking with the detective looking up on this, my car is pretty rare in chicago, because of the spolier only 500 made in 2003 and thats it. theres only a handful of my type of evo with that spoiler in the chicago metro others are in nyc cali fl and or western states, also my mom told she was listening outside and heard 3-5 guys talking loud and about around 2-3 am o july 27, with what sounded like a large semi trailer. since evos are awd, i got suspicious on this tip since that noise my mom heard lasted for about 10-20 minutes. does that sound like someone had enough time to lift a car onto a flatbed truck?
Yeah maybe my mom was mistaken by the wing. (She honestly doesn't know) but she did see one yesterday around 1:30PM on Howard Street. I'll ask for more details when she gets off of work.
thanks for the support ill keep you guys updatd with what i get here, im checking any leads, i had different tailights that pic above in the back seat of the car was going to install them thursday, they were depo jdm mr tails heres a link so you need to look ot this as well very distinctive tails. http://www.dashzracing.com/03-06-mit...06-dp-blk.html
Ok this is what happened:
They broke your rear passanger side quarter window. Stuck in their arm and reached in to unlock the door. Then they used black duck tape to cover the whole and make it look natural in the dark.
Next they went inside your car removed that plastic cover peice under the glove compartment box, unplugged your ecu and plugged in their ecu. After that they broke your key iginition lock and plastic trim around it to allow it to turn. Next up they stuck a screw driver inside the exposed ignition key lock and turn it to start the car.
Now I am assuming this next part. Most likely they dont know if you have any sort of GPS tracking device or not. So they drive your car to some random neighborhood and park it their over night. If your car is still there next day, they come to pick it up for the drive to their shop. I assume this because my car was the only one reported stolen that I know of and was found the next day parked at a random location not too far from where it was stolen (with in 5 miles or so).
Only a couple of the theives are caught from the ones mentioned. This operation from the looks of it has a lot of people involved working together. So the other parties are probably continuing the process.
That may have been your car seen as posted, possibly the next day pick up and drive to the shop moment or maybe it wasnt...
If your car is not found by now, start searching for a new car to buy.

the one thing dont get is why evos? they are not interchangeable like hondas/acuras, and they are not that flashy comapred to like mercedes or bmws, on top of that why even care to take something that is not goin to get them money that easily with parts that are worn out my car had over 124k in miles, i have all new replacement paerts in my house not in the car, so whats up with that? i can understnad if it were a low mileage evo but my car had tranny problems, ecu problems, and even issues with misfiring and possible knock?
It seems to me they keep taking evos cause they know how to take them. Its a damn shame so many cars are getting taken up there. Hell, it makes me nervous to go up there for any meets, open houses etc.
I hope everything works out for ya man!

My advice to everyone else, invest in a GPS tracking device, ex. lojack etc... Dont pick up the car right away, sit back wit the cops and wait for them to take it to the shop.
dude i swear i saw a white evo with black taillights and exhaust on the dan ryan headed out of the city, what did the front of your car look like and did it have tints? I was just downtown on monday night taking pictures of my buddies cars and on our way back we pulled next to that evo to race but he pulled off and exited the freeway. I cant remember were he pulled off but i think it was close to kendall college.
