Well, at least you didn't get towed like me. That would be another $200 right there. The court appearance is easy. I googled and downloaded pics of a similar car and said it was all fixed per the law. Judge didn't even look at the photos since he had a court room full of problems and just said ok...bye. Just don't drive your car to the courthouse.

 

Illinois made it legal to have tints, but in the same week Chicago passed a city ordinance outlawing tinted front windows.... So yes, you can legally get ticketed in Chicago for tinted windows. Also the fine went up from $25 to $250.

 

Rockford is much more lenient on this too though.

Yeah I heard, I got lucky and actually got away from a ticket in Chicago with the fit (32% all around) and everywhere else, they don't look twice. The city is just scamming people more and more these days is all, you pay for a city sticker, you pay for registration but yet, it's still illegal for you to park on a public road with out paying for it (not everywhere but you get what I mean), Daily really wanted his pockets deep I guess.

Guess I take the train downtown from now on as all my windows are tinted on all my cars, even the windshield.
