Evo owners in Madison, WI area...
Does anyone feel like helping me install a Greddy electric boost gauge? I plan to mount it on the steering wheel column, I have the gauge and all the parts...I was just hoping someone with experience would be willing to help me out.
So far the how to's I've seen all drill through the firewall and I'm wondering if this is necessary. I don't think the hose or wires are long enough to reach through the well-known glove-box pass through. I have heard of another by the pedals...what about where the factory wiring harness passes through? You can see my dilema
If anyone feels like helping me out please post, IM, or email me, TIA!

Thanks for the replies, Milwaukee owners!
Let me know if one/some/all of you want to meet up some time to help me do the install...I make the drive to Milwaukee fairly often.
Contrary to the evidence in this thread, I have seen 7 or 8 Evos in Madison, I know they exist! I always see more when I'm in Milwaukee though...thanks for letting yourselves be known!

Thanks for the offer the-moss!
No WRX bowing just yet
I love WRX's though...I seriously thought about getting one before I decided on the Evo. A good friend of mine is gonna get a WRX wagon soon...I want him to have silver, just like me-great photos!
I ended up getting my gauge installed at Kayser Mitsubishi. Paul in service is very nice and knows what he's doing. I haven't had great luck with my gauge though (sporatic function), but it wasn't their fault...maybe a faulty gauge. It works only after I've been driving for a mile or so...before that, nothing. Bummer.
If you'd like to get together to talk cars sometime that would be cool. Maybe you know some other WRX/STI/Evo owners in our area? Either way, it'd be nice to talk cars with someone...most of my friends think I'm crazy

Hehe, I don't have my WRX anymore. Traded it the weekend before last on the last Evo Kaiser had left.... I got raped on the deal, but I have my Evo finally.
We should definately meet up, maybe try to set up a Madison Evo meet. Have there been any of these yet? Maybe a Mitsu/Subaru meet.
On a side note, Does anyone know what was going on in Brookfield on Wednesday evening? Must've been some kind of cruise going on because as I crossed the greenfield/Moorland rd intersection (I was heading west on greenfield) there were quite a few imports (very cool imports) sitting at the light heading south on Moorland. For sure I was a black Evo (first in line), 2 NSXs, 3 Supras, and a few others... I think (although I'm not sure) that out of the corner of my eye I even saw a skyline can't be sure though it was one of those... "OMG was that a.... nope can't see it anymore".

Congratulations on your Evo! I didn't get the best deal on mine either...I should've negotiated some more...I was worried all the '03's would be gone soon though, looks like I was wrong and let excitement get the best of me
Oh well, how can you not get excited about an Evo?!
I don't think there have been any Madison meets yet...sounds like you're in the Milwaukee area frequently though. I'd love to have a meet here some time. Subaru/Mitsu would be fine with me...the more the better.
I don't know what was going on Wednesday night that you asked about...sounds like some cool car sightings though. Milwaukee & Chicago are so much better for seeing other cool cars...though I did see a yellow 911 Carrera last week that gave me a nice nod.
I'll be in Milwaukee for a bit on Saturday to pick up a friend as we head to Green Bay for a half-marathon on Sunday...PM or post so we can sort out a time to meet and get ideas going for a Madison or Milwaukee meet!

I haven't forgotten about this meet thing, just been swamped with work and trying to buy a house..
Is anyone going to be going to the Madison AutoX on 6/6? This will be my first Madison one and my first one with the Evo. If you see a yellow one there stop and say hi.

Hey Moss. Wish I would have seen this post earlier. Great driving on Sunday at the Madison autocross. People next to me were saying you had no fear sliding around the banking.
Hope to see ya at the next one. -Erik H

Shoot-I knew I should've went to that autoX...I thought it was canceled last time I checked? Where was it?
Nice to see more Madison Evo owners posting...I don't suppose any of you guys would want to help me with an exhaust install? Let me know...
If anyone has access to a lift, or knows anyone who does-that'd also be great. Post or PM me if ya like-thanks in advance for the help!

The autocross was supposed to be at Sugar River Raceway but with all the rain the other week the whole track was under water. So last minute we changed the location to Columbus 151 Speedway. We've had nothing but problems with the schedule this year. -Erik
Thanks Erik, before Sunday I knew this car was exceptionally good, now I know it is phenomenal.
I hope those R-compounds helped you a lot because there was no way I was getting a clean 41.xxx, come to think of it your center caps were missing.... that must have saved you at least a second a lap from the reduced rotating mass
Joking aside a great drive for you too. I'm going to have to have you come around with me on one run next time and give me some pointers to what I am doing wrong. That slalom was killing me, and I was the slalom king in my WRX.
Lithe, I do have access to a lift, right now it has a car on it waiting for new half shafts, but they should be back pretty soon. The only problem is I don't have much time right now with work. But if you can be flexible I'm sure we could get it done. Oh, and the lift is about 60 miles from Madison at my parent's house.
