The person I just talked to at the Schaumburg DMV told me that there is no change in the law planned for license plates. She might have just been too lazy to actually look but thats what I was told.

here's what you do... Crack your bracket & put it on the floor by passenger seat... THEN put your lic. plate in your front window on your passenger side dash & no one can really say anything!!!

Yeah except them you have an ugly license plate in your window all the time and you are carting around a piece of junk in your back seat. Screw that, I would rahter not look like the ricers that put god awfull ground FX on their cars and then put the plate in the window. Blah. Don't drive like an *** and you shouldn't have any issues.

We have mounted our front plate. My wife got pulled over for, guess what? Not having a front plate in McHenry County, back in March '05. Well, it's been a year since this thread was started and front plates are still required in IL.

fwiw, I've been pulled over twice and was asked where my front license plate was. Both times I had a front plate on - always have - so not sure what the deal is. It's in the normal location.

Of course the follow-up questions... by the way, those windows look pretty dark or by the way that exhaust seems pretty loud...

^hell yea.

well for those who drive with out one and want to park, take some velcro, and if you can bare it, put it on your front bumper. put some on the license plate and stick on when parked.
