Question How important is horizontal bar that runs accross cross member.

I guess the driver side bolt was over torqued, after takin it off and trying to reinsert i realized the thread were all stripped in the silver nut that sits on top that the bolt goes into.......i was thinking maybe that silver nut was welded on and may be able to try to sand it down or something, to fit another nut on top, or find a longer screw, btw, anyone know the read size for those 14's???

currently i have the 14 goin in the passenger side, and also the 14 is going in the cross member, but hte driver side doesn't have a bolt in it at this point...wondering how bad is this?

thanks for replies

lol...sorry about that.....ok, the front motor mount is connected to the cross member, that runs from bumper towards back of the car, yes?

also attached to this cross member is a bar that runs from passenger side, to the driver side, one bolt goes threw the cross member, and one bolt connects to passenger side, and one ot driver side...the one to driver side is stripped..wondering how much of a necessity is it to have it installed....

I was kidding with you shark. I have never had mine off for more then a few weeks,I guess they are for some lateral g ridgidity. I would put them on. I know a few who don't use them, because of DP rubbing, but you can pick some up cheap in the For Sale section. Better safe then sorry I guess.
