front license plate

So i'm new here and i just got a fix up ticket for not having a front license plate.

So i decided i wanted to offset my front license plate like the evos and i was wondering if some one could help me with that or direct me to a thread that already answers this question. i'm not too good with this site yet so i dont really know how i can find a thread like this.

so anyone know how to mount the front license plate to the side?

thanks for the help

You can either buy a mount (I know I saw some on eBay a few weeks ago), or you can just drill two holes directly in the bumper and attach the plate (that'd be the ghetto way, but it works just fine).

Here's a thread about it.

If you don't to drill holes you can velcro it on. What I did was:
1) Homedepo > get some "extreme velcro" with the big ridges (industrial strength one)
2) Carstore > plain black plastic frame
3) Cut 3 pieces (size of the velcro) of my left over vinyl that I used for the front bumper.
4) Applied it to the car, let it dry, then put on the velcro pads soft side on car.
5) Applied velcro rough side behind the plate.
6) Took my plate to the nearest fence to make a smooth bend.
7) Attached the plastic black frame.
8) Pushed the plate against the other side of the velcro!

*If you have trouble with bending the plastic black frame to follow the bend of your license plate, I got some of those paper binder clips (black ones with the 2 silver handle things) from staples and i put it on the 4 corners of the plate and took out the silver thing.

**I'll try to take some pics to show how it looks, but it looks nice.

edit:

cool thanks. yea pictures would be nice. Wouldn't placing velcro on your bumper be just as bad as drilling holes? Is the purpose of the velcro for easy removal of the license plate? jw..

The velcro is pretty strong imo. I don't think anyone would notice it was attached with velcro unless they start messing with it, but if someone wanted to steal your plate they can unscrew it just as easy as pulling on the velcro. About the damage it does, since I put vinyl over that area of the bumper before sticking on the velcro strip I think I'm o.k. The thing about holes is that its a hole ; with velcro, if it damages your paint, you can always touchup (use extra vinyl!).

Ravs picture above looks like a good guide, just have steady hands with the drill and you will be fine. But if you dont think you can handle it take it to your dealer. just make sure they dont drill it in the standard spot hahah that happen to someone already hahah
