Noob AP question

I recently purchased a X just a couple weeks ago and have been reading a lot about first mods and had a simple question about the Access Port.

Is it really as easy as plug and go have fun? With the preprogrammed maps or downloadable ones it will give a generalized increase in power correct? Obv a specific tune is a great idea for your specific car but is it really that simple from the get go??

Thanks in advance

^The stock Cobbmaps are pretty conservative. You can look at my thread for my custom tune on Cobb base map versus cutom tune. I would purchase it from Perrin, Ivey, or Dynoflash so that you could get their more aggressive map. I will promise you, you will not be dissappointed in the power gains!!! It is also so easy to use I think my 4 year old could read the prompts and do it. First flash is kinds slow after that it goes pretty fast.
